18Holes around MacDonald Hotels and Resort’s Cardrona Golf course in Peebles! Time to record a score
[Music] Heat. Heat. Hey, welcome to Big Golf Tours And today we are at McDonald Hotels and Resorts Groups Cardona Golf Course. This is a championship golf course with a hotel and spa on site. I’m very much looking forward to playing these 18 holes and seeing how we get on. Problem for me, the first hole is a par five, stroke index seven. Let’s see how we get on. Okay, a little bit down the left hand side. Let’s see how we get on. Go on then. Go on then. Yay. What a way to start. So far so good. Green’s nice and slick. Just been dressed, but they’re they’re perfect. Um, nice little view here uphill. 272 yard par four. Wind’s helping me a bit, but I still don’t think I can get it there, but I’m going to give it a bash anyway. Why not? Hey shot. It was straight. Let’s see how we got on. off the back of the green. Yeah. Good shot. Yay. Such a beautiful day. We’ve been really lucky with the with the weather today. A little bit of a breeze coming into us here on the third hole, but this is a a nice little windy hole here. 403r 4 from an elevated T obviously. Yeah, that should be okay. We’re nicely on the fairway here. About 150 yards to go. I didn’t see it come down, but I think it’s somewhere close to the green. Still trying to get used to this new putter, you know. Okay, so that’s three holes away. We’ve had a pretty decent start, I think, with one under. Um, so far, wow, this is this is really nice, actually. Um, it’s a beautiful inland course and it’s got all of these hills around you. So, it’s actually all the birds that you can hear echoing around you is just amazing. But yeah, really pretty. Enjoying this. Next hole then is a 443 yard par4 from the yellow TE’s which we’re playing today. Might play the medals next time. See how long it is. it. So, we’ve just missed the fairway here. We got 189 to go to the flag. So, I’m hopefully going to try and carry this on to the front of the green and just let it roll up. Good shot. [Music] It’s a huge So, we are definitely off to a good start here. Start of the start of the season, actually. Um, but we’re on to our first path three, which is 186 yards, and it’s over some water, according to the map. Let’s try and get it close to the green. Go a bit. Yeah, I think so. Let’s see how that stopped a little bit quicker than I wanted it to. Wow, it was off the green if it didn’t. Okay, that’s our first bogey of the day. Never mind. On to the next hole. Hole number six then a 513 yard par five. Let’s see uh if we can get one on the fairway this time. Good shot. Oh, I think we’ve just run off the fairway. Yeah, that should be okay. Good shot. [Music] I must admit with the with the dressing I am having a little bit of a problem reading the greens. It is a bit I just went with the lean of the hole there. Lucky one. Uh, hole number seven then, which is a dog leg left to right, nearly 400 yard par four. Um, water hanging through the middle of it and it’s stroke index one. Are you sure? Yeah. That bounced towards the bunker, didn’t it? Yeah, this one bounced towards the bunker. Okay, didn’t it? Straight in it. I don’t have a stance. This might be a bit of a hackout. Let’s see how we get on. Okay, I’m happy with that. At least it’s out. It’s in the sand. That wind is stronger than it looks. Go on. Okay. Yep. That’s a difficult hole. All right. Thank you. Just off the back of the green, I think Yay. Not the best of lies back there for the chip, but happy with the putt. Nice result. Number nine then is another little par three. Say little 174 y. Little bit downhill and the wind is hurting. Good shot. Nice. That’s a good one. That stopped quickly. Okay, that’s another par. We’re doing well. Okay, so front nine over and done with. Um, it’s a great course actually. Wow. Uh, greens are in top condition. Yes, they have been dressed recently, but they’re still they’re still pretty okay. Fairways are really decent and overall playing very very well. It’s a it’s bone dry today. A little bit windy like I said earlier. Um, so so far a lot of the holes been into the wind. Be nice to come back again at some point. Hole number 10 then. 391 yard par four. Pretty straight. Little bit of water on the right hand side and the wind is hurting a bit as well. Let’s go and see if we can find it. Oh no. Well, that was the first chunky one of the day. Go on. I saw it. It’s on the green. Well, after that chunk, I deserved something, didn’t I? What was that? One, two, chunk, three, four or five. Yeah. Okay. So, that’s a bogey. Hole number 11. Then another 200 yard par three. A common theme at McDonald Hotels golf courses 200 yard plus par 3es. There’s a lot of them. It’s good. That’s rolled through the green. I thought that was in. Wow. Another P. That was nearly a very good putt. number 12 then 479 yd par five. Little bit of water in front of the green but we ain’t getting there off the tea. That looked like a decent Oh I just cannot hit the ball hard enough. That’s a path. God damn. Uh, hole number 13. Then another 170 yard par three. Of course, you’re not going to find many 120 yard par three holes, huh? Okay. Okay, good distance. Just left. [Music] Oh, nice birdie. Yay. Yeah, that’s a good bird. I like that one. Nice long par five here then. Hole number 14. 550 yards straight into the fan. Straight as hot as it is today. A thin nut. It’s beside the green. But that was an awful shot. Damn it. That’s not a good bogey. I’m not happy with that at all. Hole number 15 then is a 357 yard par4. Lots of bunkers on the left, lots of water on the right. bit left. You see it roll on the front of the green. Yay. That was a what do they call that? A knee twitcher. That was a knee twitcher. Yeah. Good. Oh no, distance was good. Probably the best driver I’ve hit today. I got to hope it’s in play now. [Music] there. That’s on the right. Yay. Hey, it’s been a tough course, you know. Okay, here we go then. Hole number 18. 387 yard ball to finish with. Stand where those carts are there. Good shot. [Music] Okay. From the green. the left. Yay. And that’s a wrap. Okay, so we finished up with a nice path overall. Um, what a great cl. Love it. Um, so between this and Spay Valley, I think these are two really decent inland courses.
