The golf ace had been hot on the comeback trail. Max Homa threw his club across the fairway after screwing up a shot during the final round of this year’s PGA Championship. The American had been on the comeback trail before a double bogey on the third hole set his chances back. Homer started the day at even par, and while he was unlikely to have caught overnight leader Scotty Sheffller at 11, there were hopes of a strong finish to an overall solid week’s work. However, after the 34year-old missed the green on the third, he was unable to control his emotions, launching his wedge around 20 yards towards the pin. Unsurprisingly, social media was quick to react to the outburst with Margila Capital posting on X. It always cracks me up when they go and pick up right after lol. Let me read her put, replied saying, good on the caddy for leaving it there. PH Matt Will went as far as calling on the authorities to punish the six-time PGA Tour event winner. They said, “There are insane penalties for almost everything on tour, but act like a petulant toddler by throwing a club or digging a huge additional divot. Nothing.” Homer isn’t the first, and he certainly won’t be the last golfer to lose their rag during a high pressure environment like this. However, after Patton Kazire sent his putter flying following a missed putt earlier this year, Rory Mroy called on players to behave better while out on the course. The Masters winner said, “It can be relatable, but at the same time, you want to try to set a proper example. Like you don’t want you don’t want 10-year-old kids punting their putters across the green every time they miss a putt.
