there is truly nothing as so powerful as love many waters cannot quench love rivers cannot wash it away if one were to give all the wealth in this house for love it would be utterly scorned life by its very nature is full of excitement married life is no different there are countless adventures yet to be had and memories yet to be made you get to do all these things with a loving partner by your side at the love you share today as strong as it already is will only continue to grow and flourish over time this phenomenon is one of the greatest gifts life has to offer cherish it as grant and emma prepare to formalize their union they do so contently knowing that from this day forward they will never walk alone in the celebration of love we find optimism for the future [Music] pretty apparent growing up emma’s strong-willed some may say stubborn and she’s very smart but she also cares a great deal she has a big heart something bad happens she’s there she’s going to step in she’s going to help she’s going to do whatever she can grant is the kind of guy that has the tolerance the patience the compassion as well as the smarts to challenge emma and be right there with her and on top of all that what i saw is a person who is very loyal committed and the kind of guy that will do the tough thing i am incredibly optimistic and know that they’re gonna have a great life together i know that emma’s been dreaming of this day since she was a little girl she has everything planned to the nth degree on this special day july 23rd we are all witnesses of mr and mrs walters celebrating the first day of the rest of their lives together [Music] your laugh and your smile i don’t think there’s a single person on this earth that won’t smile if they were in the same room while you were laughing and to go with your hysterical laugh that smile that comes with it would light up the galaxy far far away looking into your eyes gives me direct access to how beautiful your heart is it sometimes overwhelms me the emotions i get when i look into your eyes i usually don’t have any words you know what genuine love is and if you have taught me what it feels like to be loved with a whole heart [Music] a great owen the three and a half years we have spent together have taught me more about myself love and life than i could have thought possible i’ve learned that patience is a virtue one that i am greatly lacking you’ve taught me that the perfect man does not exist but the perfect one for me does when our lives changed on january 21st you were right there for my family and i you helped me through the darkest time of my life to grieve and to overcome the loss of my father i don’t thank you enough but i know if he were here right now he would be crying like a little baby watching us grow up and do grown-up things we’ve seen each other at our worst and through it all learn to work and grow as a team to see the value in the life we have begun to build together i love you for the time that you put into our family the father you are to our henry boy and the father i know you’re going to be you have proven time and time again that we are each other’s missing piece when i am with you i am happy i smile for no reason at all emma catherine ross i know i may be taking your last name but i promise to give you my everything in return from this day forward i vow to love you when sick or healthy for better for worse in wealth or lack thereof until the day i die i vow to choose you today tomorrow and every day i vow to help you love life to always hold you with time the latest and greatest couple on the block mr and mrs grant owen walters [Music] [Music] i remember there was a day where emma came up to me and she said that she had met somebody in one of her lectures and she was pretty attracted to him that she thought he was super cute and she wanted to reach out to him but wasn’t sure because she was tired of getting her heart broken and that person happened to be grant and as the months went on i saw how happy he was making her and i was like oh boy if he breaks her heart there’s going to be consequences but then years went on and i saw the happiness continued and actually got greater then the day came where i actually saw a moment where they looked at each other and i realized you know they’re gonna get married i just knew deep down that you two were meant for each other and i had nothing to worry about [Music] grand emma met in 2017 and an intro to chemistry class there wasn’t a whole lot of chemistry between the two at the first because grant wouldn’t give emma the time of day until many months later when emma made the first move 15 must be a very lucky number because on july 15th of 2019 grant promised emma forever a year later on august 15th of 2020 while on a catamaran i witnessed grant pull a shiny engagement ring out of his pocket that he stored in a dental floss container and asked emma to spend the rest of his life with her today is the day where we celebrate the two becoming one when things get tough and all else fails you will each have the other in your corner to lean on for support [Music] i’m not the easiest person to win over and this kid grant shows up grant i am beyond ecstatic to see that you are the person that ended up with my older sister because i don’t think that there is a better man that she could have ended up with so [Applause] [Music] [Applause] on this day in 2071 grant and emma will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary with their 19 kids 12 golden retrievers and Set in Green Bay, Wisconsin, Emma and Grant’s wedding was beautiful. The ceremony was on their family land in the country in a very sentimental location and the reception was at the Thornberry Creek at Oneida Golf Course. Emma and Grant’s love for each other was apparent and inspiring.
