Hello and welcome to the latest from Heart Standard. My name is Joel Sced. On this occasion, I am joined by Craig Kairens. How’s it going, Craig? Yeah. Yeah. Okay, Joel. Not too bad. I’m usually a wee bit uh worse for wear after these um after these midweek games, especially when I get hit by road closures on the way back, but I’m all right. We bit zombie-ish, but I should be all right. Yeah. I don’t know. Yeah. Yeah. Good. Good. It was um it’s feel like I’m I feel like I talk as if I’m an actual footballer, but I find it hard to when I come back from timecastle like last night. Find it hard to not switch off but um power down if that’s the right way to to say and go go to sleep. Uh so I it’s it’s always the the day after um a night game is weird. So I don’t know how how the players feel when doing it. Quarter to one I got back. Yeah. So, I wasn’t for like a wee while after that. So, yeah, you can all imagine how it’s been how it’s been this morning. And then I’ve had tech issues before trying to do this. So, like I did the last one that I ended up missing, but uh we’re not we’re not trying to go live on this one, thankfully. No, no. We’ve I was going to say was like sorry for those who who like to watch and interact via the comments, whether it’s on Facebook or or YouTube, but we weren’t sure when we’re going to record this and then just decided to do it non-live to make it easier for planning purposes and allowing us to win. For example, I suggested we do it at midday and it’s now 12:46. So that kind of just shows you what uh what can happen and our um a bit bit of stuff happening and time keeping as well. Uh so usually on usually on my side but we will be discussing last night’s 21 win over St. Johnson the latest on the head coach search head coach search I’ll get Craig’s views on George Grant and Barry Mai having after they were confirmed as departing and we’ll speak a wee bit very briefly on Alexandra Alexandros Kazarus the Greek winger that Harts are looking to potentially sign in the summer transfer window but before we get to that of course Hart Standard is brought to you by S1 Jobs If it’s time to hand in your transfer request, then head over to s1job.com and upload your CV today. With thousands of jobs across Edinburgh and the surrounding surrounding area, you’ll find the one at S1 jobs. Start your search today. Create George Grant and Barry Mai. I’m only joking. George Grant’s actually looking beyond Edinburgh. They’ll be um I’m it’ll be I’ll be when we come to it’ll be interesting where they end up now Craig a two-1 win over St. Johnston goals from well Barry Douglas on goal and Alan Forest in the first half. It got a bit tense in the second half after Graham Kis scored an excellent free kick. Uh but there were a few positives that came from last night. We’ll look at a couple of individuals. We’ll kind of concentrate on a couple individuals shortly, but what piqu your interest in in how hearts played? Well, um, did I say piqu your interesting piqu your interest? I don’t know. Ros, I heard it as interest. Oh, that’s fine. Well, I’ll state something less obvious and then we’ll maybe come on to the obvious ones. But, uh, something I was talking to you about which I kind of put a wee bit of in the instant analysis was Benny. It was the least influential game uh Bening has had in quite a while. Um not that the team was necessarily worse for it. They found other players played well instead. Like there was you saw Grant dropping in a lot instead. H Danda was coming deep quite a lot for the opening goal as well. Um, uh, Develin was both dropping in at times and as you pointed out making runs beyond the the high line that St. Johnston were playing sometimes also. And it was also it was almost like Benny was he was playing further forward like he almost and I don’t know whether it was St. Johnston’s game plan that just forced Harts to not give him the ball as much cuz I turned to you at one point and said I think he’s touched the ball the fewest on the pitch and he was he was among the fewest that I mean we’re maybe talking about 35 40 minutes into the game and he had had 10 touches. Ryan Fulton was one of the four players that had had fewer touches um with six or something like that. And uh but it was just like Hearts played around that sort of central area and Shankland Shankland was playing. It was it was like a it was almost like a Critley team again with how deep uh Shankland was playing at times, but at the same time he sets up he sets up Forest for the um for the second goal. So I think like speaking about the sort of shape more generally, I think the midfield was quite interesting. Given the way that it was set up, similar to how Fox has in the last two matches, given that sort of Benny had a bit of a muted performance, it was quite interesting to see other players sort of come to life around that. Yeah. Yeah. I I thought it was it felt like there was it was a lot more fluid than than it than it perhaps has been. That’s not a criticism. Like it’s the last couple of games on the Fox, the players have like it’s like they’ve had their position and you’re like right looking at them and they’ve it it’s been quite kind of straightforward and it did feel like there was a lot more rotation, a lot more fluidity with the especially with the the way the fullbacks were playing with the midfielders. You mentioned mentioned Develin and Shanklin like Develin going long, Shanklin going deep. I just felt there was maybe a bit more of a probably the rest right way to put it seemed like there was a lot more var variety in the players movements. the the first goal was a perfect example of the of the movement that was taking place and what Fox wanted asked him asked him afterwards about it and there was a lot of it just felt like third man run and Dander I think it was Dander dropped deep mil went and Mil went over the top and the that’s where the ball was played and then he slid across the slid across the box and there was a couple hearts players into it that you used you asked Adam Forester as well about kind of his position ition in and um he certainly looked over the last few games he certainly looked more like the Adam Forester was playing for the B team picking up picking up different positions that yeah I think uh against Johnson especially he was I mean he got he almost scored at the front post towards the end of the game uh there was times where he was running beyond Shankland and Shanklin was arriving late in the box to to take a pass. Um, but yeah, rotations, that’s exactly the word I was going to use. There was a lot more sort of midfield rotations. Other than Benny cuz there was points in the first half. I’m not criticizing because sometimes that happens sometimes, as I was saying, I think it might have been St. John’s game plan. I think it might without watching it back. I think McP might have been dropping in to kind of block Benny getting the ball. But there was points when Benny was kind of just beyond the center circle, but was just like going one way a few yards and then turning and then going the other side of the pitch a few yards and then turning and going back. Um, but yeah, there was lots of there was lots of fluidity within there and we play we haven’t I said come to the obvious um and within that Harry Mil really thrived as well. It was a different second half performance from the team at times and from him. He had one of St. Johnson’s trickiest opponents as his direct opponent. Uh and he gave him a bit of a tough time a few points in that second half. But in the first half, Mil was at the center of most of the good things Harts were doing. His deliveries into the box were great, including for the own goal. I mean, that’s what causes the panic and the own goal uh to happen. but he’s off making that run before uh before Halitz even made the pass. H there was points where he was coming into the center a little bit and and um and and taking touch, playing a pass and and and getting involved. And there was just before the goal as well, he put a good delivery into the box, but I think he had made the interception on the halfway line, played a one-two, and then puts in a good delivery. So yeah, it was um he spoke about how he wanted a chance to show the Hearts fans what he could do. And I suppose I had never really appreciated that going into the end of the season that he had he had had that appearance at Celtic Park, but I suppose I’d never I hadn’t really appreciated that he hadn’t had a chance to play in front of the the Hearts fans and what that kind of means for a player. Yeah. Yeah, absolutely. And it was it was good to see him and good for him to have a positive impact. And there was there was that moment in the very early on in the first half. He did really well at the back post. It was a really dangerous ball, but for one second I thought thought he put it into the into the back in his into his own net. But I and I’m I’m delighted selfish reasons. I’m delighted he got an appearance and I’m sure we’ll see him again at Karnik because I’ve been sitting on a sitting on a feature. I spoke to Paul Hartley and Dian McCall uh who had them at Cove Rangers and Party Thistle respectively. So been looking forward to putting out because there’s some really good some really good stuff in there from from both Heartley and McCall and something that Hartley said uh kind of I think we got to see glimpses of that and he he said well he told me the supporters will like him. He’s a fullback who gives everything but a modern day a modern fullback who can actually defend. He’s really good going forward, really good on the ball. unbelievable in the air. He’s about six foot 61, but he’s got some spring on him. Can play as a center half. You won’t have any problem with him. Hearts fans will like him. And I think all of that could have been seen last night. Well, all of it could be seen across the two his two performances because he played at center back against Celtic. But it’s um it was it was an encouraging one. I uh despite putting out a tweet last night, I won’t be getting Jerry Gerald Taylor pled and getting too carried away, but you can see and I think I said to you, you can see straight away that he is a fullback that’s probably Derek McKinn will really like because of his size and his size is good and he can he can shift as well. And now I’m saying this is that you still have to factor in that we’ve already still got a James Penrose who the decision was taken not to play him because he is one booking away from a suspension. So now it means that he won’t get be suspended for the start of the season if he’s still here. But I mean I just I’d be surprised if there’s not interest in him considering how well he has done this season. But I it’s just it’s good to be in a position where at the moment hearts are very in a very good position left backwise because you’ve got James Penrose, you’ve got Harry Mill and even ste Steven Kingsley as well can bring that experience and versatility and Fox mentioned him. So yeah, a really good outing and uh um a positive one and he was probably the biggest positive individual wise. I suppose the second the second person I wanted to talk about or ask you about was um Alan Forest. He has uh he’s been he’s he’s been excellent in the last three games in terms of what he has brought to the team and I thought yesterday especially the first half was probably his best 45 minutes in that spell and well best probably best 45 minutes of the season. Yeah, he was he was pretty good in the ammonia first half as well. I mean, and I don’t think I’m just thinking that because he scored a goal in that game. I’m sure he was pretty good those first around the time when Critley was first appointed. There was a few games he was pretty good and I think I mean the whole team was pretty good in that first half uh against Demonia. But yes, um it’s been a real sort of a real sort of burst of form and it’s just I suppose it’s just part of it Liam Fox having confidence in him and and him taking confidence from somebody having having that in him having that trust in him because he fell out of favor really badly under under Critley. I mean, he was a target of some some over the top. It always gets from some quarters over the top. I mean, I don’t think the guy’s been uh I think he deserves some constructive criticism for some of his performances at hearts. And like right now, he’s in what looks like another purple p patch. The challenge for him is to to be more consistent to to take that into next season and be a more consistent and be a more consistent player because that’s what he’s done at hearts. He’s shown these kind of he’s shown these kind of flashes. Um I knew this was going to happen at some point but I lost my train of thought we but what was I saying before? No, I was just you I think that you you were talking about Liam Fox and the confidence that he’s had and that’s I think it’s something that we asked we asked Fox last night about and was it I’m trying to find the quote there he’s basically talked about him being an unassuming guy and he maxes out every day. I think he’s just a really good trainer, but he was just folk said we’ve just given him a bit of structure, just given a wee bit of opportunity, given him some clear things that we expect from him. And that’s something that Forest said when he did press last week or whenever it was was it’s he’s basically just being told just to be positive with the ball and then if you lose it then just try and win it back and be positive for the ball again. And we saw that he was carrying that ball route forward really well. did it against Motherwell as as as well being really positive and taking taking it to them and I think hearts fans are more appreciative if you are being if you’re looking to drive forward with it and if you lose it fine but it’s when you are a wide man and then you are reluctant to do that and you play you kind of play sideways or backwards and then that kind of frustration gets up. But to your point towards the end, I know there’ll be a lot of fans who view him as someone who should be moved on in the summer. Still got a year on his deal. He is Hart’s obviously going to be trying to improve all areas of the pitch, but I just don’t think there’ll be as big overhaul. Like I I can’t imagine Hart’s going to be bringing in like 15 players. So that’s if he’s still if he’s still there next season then a good squad he’s just a good squad player I think that’s what he that’s what he is a horse I think there’s with a new manager coming in as well I think that makes it more likely that people like Forest and Danda whereas I would have said uh a month or two ago they would have if they could maybe look to offload those players under a new manager then if they want to stick around and try and then Hart’s might not have any say. So, uh it could be the case that Forest the ball’s in his court. Unless they say you’ve you’re not going to get not going to get any game time here. Uh you may as well move on and then they find something that suits all parties, then he could he’ll be within his rights to say, “No, I want to stay and try and impress the next manager.” I do remember where I was going before. He was a somewhat unfair target of the criticism and then he was kind of rightfully dropped. He needed taken out the team at that point and um then the team stop started playing without wingers. So, he was a wee bit sort of unfortunate there, but uh I I think there’s been a few comments that’s been made recently. And I’m not saying that people in their post matches and their pre-matches are saying things to deliberately make sort of veiled digs at what’s gone before. But there’s been a lot of chat about simplicity. Yeah. And clear instructions and this and that. And I don’t know. I think it’s I I think it’s I don’t think it’s said with any criticism, but I think it’s kind of it’s meant as a sort of nod to as opposed to before. Yeah. Yeah. I think that’s that’s been a consistent theme. And it’s I think you get that when managers change players will then they won’t out outright criticize but they will mention the differences and the the positives of the new the new person coming in but I mean just before we move on some as like Forest I think he’s a a good squad player but he is like when you’re when you’re moving forward and as as a squad begins to overturn uh window by window he is someone that you can improve on and eventually when he does move on if it’s whether it’s this summer, January or when he’s out of contract at the end of the the following season. But again, he’s I think he’s shown enough over the last I thought he was I just think he is a solid enough squad player who’s a who’s who can is who’s versatile, who’s but I don’t think he going forward should be a what I would say as a starting 11 regular. I don’t think he has that. Just can I just take a leaf out of your book and just one more thing before we before we move on. Uh Ryan Fulton um forgot to mention well I did mention him in the instant analysis but I realized this morning actually that I hadn’t mentioned the save he had made in the first half and I had actually I’d taken a note and I had actually meant to mention it. He didn’t have much to do. He had that save that was kind of deflected onto him which he probably didn’t know too much about and then he makes a really top save to keep the score at nil nil. I mean it really was it was going in the bottom. We had a perfect view of it and it was going in the bottom corner and he sticks his foot out at the last second and then again I haven’t seen it back but um the carry goal is from quite a distance. So, and maybe you like instantly start to ask questions of the goalkeeper and he looked quite gutted to not have cuz he was on course for another clean sheet. But um Graeme Kerry can do that. We all know Graeme Kerry can do that. He’s got a lovely left foot. He does. Yes. Um um but I think he deserves a mention because he’s come in and done pretty well over the last uh couple of games. And uh I do I am quite impressed with his kicking. I don’t think he’s any kind of like sweeper keeper or anything like that, but I do he’s a good sort of he’s he’s he’s competent with the ball at his feet as well. Yeah. Yeah. Absolutely. What would I like you? I’ve not seen the Kerry free kick back. So I need to I need to look at a couple of times. But again, um as as I was saying last night a lot I love Graeme Kerry. So I’m just going to assume that was an outstanding outstanding free kick. But there was a moment probably aside from that big save in the first half, there was a moment in the second half quite late on where he came out and claimed the ball really confidently and it was when St. Johnson were piling on. I think when you when you got when goalkeepers do that, it’s it’s it’s massive for defenses and massive for the crowd and that kind of relief relief aspect. H I don’t think there is anything else much else to discuss over last night’s game unless I have forgotten. So interrupt me if so, but kind of on last night um kind of further on from last night, George Grant played his final match at time Castle got taken off towards the end. We would we were planning to talk about that during the weeks, but I’ll get your your view on himself and Barry Mai leaving. I assume you are in the boat of probably best for all parties for them to move on or sensible for them to move on. Yeah, I think that came clear became clear for Barry Mai quite a wee while ago. Um, not too long after for George Grant, I would say as well that probably became clear, although it was maybe a wee bit more up in the air with how much he’s been playing this calendar year. He’s been one of the first names in the team sheet and he’s actually finished built around he’s finished the season one of the better players formwise as well over the last few matches. So um yeah an odd one an odd one because it’s kind of there’s a lot of with both actually but I’ll deal with them separately. There’s a lot of sort of whatifs with with George Grant. There’s a few unlucky moments in there. there’s a equally sort of like bad luck and poor decision making and things like that. But when he came in, I remember being quite excited about the signing because it seemed like the kind of midfield player that Harts needed at the time, that link between midfield and attack. And it never really he for me has someone that has always had the ability and he’s shown it but he’s never had that consistent run where he’s shown it and I think there has been partly down to him and there’s partly been a lot of disruption at hearts during his time and um even when there has been a manager for a decent amount of time that manager change formations and he’s the type of player that gets moved about formation, moved about positions, sorry. So, yeah, a little bit uh a little bit unfortunate for him, but um definitely to answer your original question, I think, yeah, I think it’s just better to kind of to move on from uh for for everybody concerned, I think. Yeah, I I kind of talked about the other day and wrote about it last last night in the analysis, but it’s just it’s one that’s just a move that’s just never happened for him. I think he’s when it comes to moments, his moments, his memorable moments have been bad ones rather than good ones or been he’s like kind of been the the newly guy. And I I watch him. You watch him how he plays football and you think like you just look at him and say, “Yeah, he’s he just looks like a footballer. He’s technically really good. Um, he he moves, he glides like a footballer, but he’s just never had that, yeah, you said consistency or just I don’t think he’s produced, he’s just not produced enough. And he came in and he had a few seasons down south where he scored a lot of goals and you’re thinking this is going to be great. He’s going to be the goal scoring midfielder. whether it was goal scoring from a number eight position, goal scoring from number number 10, or when he played down south, he kind of played as part of like a front three and and scored goals, but never really never really saw that George Grant and there was times where like I go back to the the Aberdeene game where he missed a penalty late on. Again, one of those moments, but he played as a number 10 and he didn’t influence the game as a number 10 should do. It was it was everything was really nice but without being uh without loads of substance to it and it just that’s best way best way to describe him because he’s he’s a hugely popular player. He is you can see he’s a talented player but at hearts in terms of his role he’s just never really never really had those those big moments or produced those produced those numbers. And for Barry Mai, just take everything we’ve just said there and sort of exaggerate it sort of like because there’s there’s been huge spells including this season where it’s just like not being involved and then there’s been there’s been bits with like the ceiling of the talent of Barry Mai is is massive. Yeah. much more than what we’re talking about with Grant, but for one reason or another, it’s just, and this maybe applies to his career rather than just his heart spell, it’s just not really kicked off for him that the talent like open should have. Yeah, that the talent sort of justifies it’s not justified the talent that he has. And there could be many reasons for that. I’m not going to try and second guess why that hasn’t happened. There can be like multiple different reasons. sometimes just wrong moves. There could be like personal stuff. Who knows? Like but um for me, Bar Yeah, there was I remember I was trying to remember this when we were talking about him at one of the games recently, but there was a few seasons ago, the first game of the season, there’s like a clip ball over the top and I think he does he like come in from the left a bit of skill round the keeper and put it in. Um, and was that or or was that to set up something and then he scores a scores a volley that game as well? No, it’s I think you might be thinking off the Shanklin’s goal in the derby. He kind of drifts in off the left and he just clips a ball over the top. Shanklin brings it down and just uh and puts it over whoever the hips goer was was. Right. Okay. I wonder if I’m just conflating things because I have done that in the past as well, but uh I didn’t think it was a Derby game. Anyway, there’s things that he’s done that he’s just you haven’t seen other Harris players do in recent times. Um, but like Grant, there’s just there’s there’s not been a consistency there and there’s been I don’t know what even more inconsistency or I don’t know how you term it, but there’s been there’s been like more time sort of like out of the team and sort of like on the sidelines and Grant, whereas I feel like Grant’s been in and out a lot more. Yeah. It’s just could be recency bias. Who knows? Yeah. Yeah. I think I think that their their careers Yeah. their um say the trajectory of the hearts clear careers have been completely different. Like Grants’s Grants has kind of oscillated but never really hit the hit the peaks. Whereas Mai Mai started at a peak and it was a seasonl long peak and then it kind of dropped for his second season and then just continued like he was out for out for basically the whole season with injury and then this season h which dropped after two games and we’ve barely barely seen no games. So it’s just um his has been a very high peak and a very low trough. Yeah. And longer peaks and trough. That’s kind of what what you said there is what I was trying to say in about 30 minutes or something. But no, he is he is I definitely got to write this. He has probably been the most joyous um that season where Harts finished third one of the most like joyful individual seasons I I I I can remember just because he he did things that no Harts player I’ve seen do um from a time just in terms of his ability to create and see things and execute things. So those two are leaving. There could be a player arriving again. H it’s nothing will really happen until the manager is through the door and we’ll come on to talk about the latest Denn McKinnus and the manager Hart’s manager situation. But Harts are interested in Greek winger Alexandros Kazaritus if I am pronouncing it correctly. He is out of contract at the end of the season and he currently plays in Slovakia for a team that I’m just bringing up h so I can try and butcher Mitchell Mitchelli. Well, we’ll go for that. But he is one of the best attacking performers in the Slovakian top flight. He’s I think it’s 13 goals and three assists. I looked on Y Scout some of the data. as well as being the second top goal scorer. He’s in the top three for shots, crosses, dribbles, and touches in the opposition box. He is he can play across the front line, but he’s predominantly a rightfooted left winger. So, he can cut in, go down the side, and it is an area of the team that parts want to strengthen as as a winger position. Not sure what it means for people be wondering what it means for Islam Chz Chesnov. I’m not sure. trying to find a bit more of that. But he looking at the looking at the the data and his output, he does seem like the type of player that Harts need to bring in this summer. Is he not the sort of inverse of Chznikov? Yes. So Chzikov is um left footed that plays on the right and Kazanas is right footed and plays on the left. So yeah, it seems like it I mean it’s an interesting one for a lot of different factors. Um it is the kind of market that you would expect. Um some of the signings to come from um it’s the position and sort of profile that hearts need. Whether the talent translates or whether it’s a successful signing, who knows? Um, we know that if McKinnus is to become the manager, he’s a fan of wingers. He had a successful season with Karnick last season with inverted wingers on each side. That said, one of the things we uh are unsure about uh with McKinnus is if you look at his signing history, there tends to be or not tends to be, it’s predominantly other than one sign in which was one that was probably forced on him rather than one he identified, it’s all been UK based signins. UK experience. Yeah. Lot Yeah, UK based. So like um all had all either British or had experience of British football basically. Um that doesn’t mean that he’s adverse to shopping these other markets. You probably have to look at sort of budgets and things like that and not having uh the scouting system that he will be uh coming into at hearts. So we don’t know whether things like this is is going to translate effectively signing a player before the before the manager’s been unveiled at that kind of thing. I don’t think if you compare that to McKinnus’s time at Aberdine for instance um it’s not not like he was he was he would have uh more control of things than than that. So it’s um I’m not trying to make a big thing of this cuz I do No, I mean I was going to just I was just going to come in and say that from conversation I’ve had um with with people is that there is going to be absolutely zero interest sorry zero issue with signing European players and having that. So there’s that’s just because he’s done and signed a lot of UK based players in the past that won’t be the case. He will sign of course and I think hearts have to have a a Scottish core or a or a core of guys who are wellversed in British football and that will that will always remain whether it’s McKinnus’s manager is not but there will be um there’ll be players coming in from abroad and Mckennis doesn’t have an issue. Yeah. No, I wasn’t I wasn’t trying to suggest that. I was merely trying to say that this is new territory for him and we don’t know like how this will translate. this is going to be one of the sort of challenges like one that he will accept and will excite him and things like that. So I I’m not trying to like create an issue and say that he’s going to be against the foreign signings. It’s just h how it translates is a is unknown at this point for both hearts and Derek McKinnis and related to that you wonder what he’s going to make of the signings that have been brought in in January if the likes of Stein vendor and Cartum and Kabangu if he hangs around all of which have pretty much disappeared under Fox which I don’t think means they don’t have a future at hearts. Um, I think Fox is genuinely just picking the players that he thinks can win the game and you’ve got to understand the circumstances that Steinbender and Cartum have come in to the club and that they will be much more in sync with the squad going into next season. But yes, that’s still another unknown how um, McKinnus what he thinks of the guys that have already been brought in under a different head coach. Yeah. Um that’s yeah that that’s fair. Believe he is um he he recognizes their talent um is the best way I I can probably put it. Um the in terms of Karita there’s something you mentioned about Kelly playing inverted wingers. It’s also somebody did at Aberdine with Nan and Johnny Hayes that he liked him on the the opposite side and again guys who can go down either side but cross in they had Adam Rooney back back then. Hopefully Harts will have Lauren Shankman this time around. We’ll have more in depth as Kazerus um if it progresses we’ll have more in-depth coverage because Tom Irving will h provide a scout report and we’ll get him on to do a video as well. Now we mentioned McKenna just finishing up before we came on this call and not this video. Kman had released a statement saying that D McKinnus will not be in the dugout. Nor will Paul Sheeran and Alan Archbold his assistants for the game between Hart Lovian and Kamik at Rugby Park on Sunday. On Wednesday night, McKennis was a target of chance from the Kelly fans. Sore hearts who are apparently falling apart again. Um as sung by every single team in in Scotland. It seems that the um I think once after that happened Theil lost to Motherwell. Probably the most sensible thing was to just remove McKinnus from uh just from that awkward situation on Sunday being in the dugout against what is likely to be his new new club. Craig, two questions of two um questions from this is do you think it’s a sensible decision? And there’s been a lot of um a lot said about the way things have been handled. What do you make of that? Right. The internet connection’s gone really badly. Either yours or mine. I’m not sure. I got the first question. I didn’t get the second. So, um yeah, it’s all it Yeah, it’s the right decision. It’s just it’ all become a bit of a mess. And it’s just I mean I don’t even think for like integrity or um conflict of interest reasons. I I don’t I wouldn’t like charge anybody that’s going to be involved at the weekend with that. I think if allowed they would all go out and just play the game of football and shake hands at the end and then move on to next season. But I think the way it’s gone with the reaction from the Karnic supporters and all that, it’s become a bit of a mess. Yeah, I think it’s best to just um to take McKinnis and his coaching staff out of the firing line on that because I mean what’s going to happen is that’s all he’s going to be asked about uh if he turns up on that day by media and things like that. So, um I it reached it reached a point where it just had to it just that that had to happen. I’m not sure what your second question was though. Sorry. It just completely It was not It was just It was just about There’s been a lot of when I put the uh put the statement up, there’s been a few replies just about how how it was how it’s been handled and how it should have waited until the end of the season. I can see how people view that from the outside, but I do do disagree. I think it’s a I just view it as uh the fact that it’s been played out and not played in the open but it’s came out and it’s a really difficult one because of the situation where Harts are playing Kelly. I think if Harts aren’t playing Kelly it’s not as big an issue that Harts wanted to Harts didn’t make a formal approach until Karnic were safe from any relegation threat while it was 12th or 11th. So they only make but Hart’s wanted to progress it so that they have a guy in place the guy they want their number one candidate in place for after the season’s finished because there’s important things to be decided like as like the kind of preseason training camp cramp to be signed of there’s guys out of contract i.e. Lonnie Champlin and Craig Gordon and then there’s there’s signings to be made so that has to happen really quickly once the season’s season’s over. So it’s just rather than it being handled badly. Yes, it’s been a bit messy. It just I just think it’s just it’s just an unfortunate situation. I just the timing off of the fact the hearts are playing Kelly in the last game the season. Yeah, I it’s it’s a part of it is just complete misfortune cuz um almost any other game maybe barring last night then you probably you would have you would have got away with it if that Kelly game had just been played at any other point. Um, but I and you can’t and like you say to an extent you can’t really blame Harts because they’ve got to make their moves and it’s not as if Harts officially announced that that was the case. It came it came out. Um, well I suppose McKinnus McKinnus said it himself on Sky, didn’t he, at the weekend, but um I it’s just it’s just I suppose it’s just the unfortunate thing. It happens to it happens to most clubs that somebody comes in and pinches your manager at some point and the timing’s the the least of the the club’s concerns and as you say hearts actually did take some consideration in the timing at least in the official approach. Yeah. Yeah. Absolutely. Absolutely. And I believe that it’ll be all announced on this the start of next week, perhaps perhaps Monday, which is which allows hearts to to move on with to move on with things and get stuff in place for what will be a interesting and likely busy summer um in our new era. I was going to say something else about uh about it, but it’s completely escaped my mind. But we’ve talked enough, so we’ll leave it there. Uh this will be going up should be going up Thursday afternoon on both podcast um channels and the YouTube channel. Uh so what I will say is that I will be for those who are interested in the foundation of hearts consultation. I’ll be going there tonight hopefully provides a bit of h coverage from it and uh it’s are going to be available on YouTube as well. So, I’m sure Craig and I might do a video on it tomorrow just from kind of what we learned um if uh if if we have time and we are able to do it. But until the next time, thank you very much everyone for listening. H be sure to check outstandard.co.uk and uh everything that’s gone up there. And be sure to subs if you’re watching on YouTube, be sure to subscribe because more subscriptions helps us. How they help us, I’m not too sure, but they they do. Goodbye.

  1. Greeks are used to hot weather…..it’s rarely hot in Scotland, not a great move! He’d be good August to September/April to May! Get shanks signed up he’s invaluable! 😊😎

  2. Free kick was sweetly hit, I was behind the goal and it cracked the inside of the post. Fulton did well to get close to it i am sure he got something

  3. Folk like that buffoon Kris Boyd have not helped. It was all fine up until he decided to start with his sycophantic ranting on Sky, acting like a politicians lobbyist in front of folks TV screens while McInnes sat there wondering what the feck to say..
