Well, hello everybody and welcome back to the channel break past series for you in association with Auximity Golf. If you’ve not checked out Auximity Golf, make sure you do. There will be a link down in the description of this video. Myself and Bernie playing at Tivetton Golf Club in a PGA event, an Alliance event. Last event, I went out and actually finished tied first in the event. So, I thought today I get together with Bernie and we get out there and see how we actually get on as a break past series. So individual score for me personally and then there’s a team event for myself and Bernie Pivotton Golf Club. The sun is shining. Let’s get [Music] going. Bit Healey. Leave this one to me, Dan. I love that. That little fivewood, Bernie. Yeah. Yeah. Perfect. 350 y that flag. So, I’m going to just try and rip a fivewood down there and just see 350. Yeah, if I can get one down there as far as possible, then um just hopefully leave me like a wedge in. That’ll turn over. Keep going. Shot done. Oh, that will bound down there. That will lovely. Two par fives in the first three holes, isn’t there? Yeah. And ideally, we want to try and take advantage of those if we can. I’m a back n player. Are you shoot on the par? Is that what you do? Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Okay, boss. 288 to the pin. I don’t really If I hit fivewood, I’m going to have 40 yards, 50 yards into the wind. Threewood. Three-wood for me would land around 230 here. So you’ll I think you know with a decent strike and a decent bounce you could get that on there. Don’t know. I think it’s out of range but I’m really probably best hitting an iron and laying it up and unl Yeah. I just don’t if I’m going to leave myself 50 yards I can’t play that shot. So what’s the point? Spotted your socks. They look lovely. Thanks. I’d like to see you just pull that right one up a fraction more. It’s just this one. Not quite. There you go. Now you’re rolling. Now you’re rolling. I’m looking forward to seeing your tan line later. Going to play a 50. Got 98 yards, Bernie. What you got? 10 109. Yeah. Just going to play it a little bit lower. Don’t think you want to be uh throwing it all the way back there. Left of the pin. Straight at it for you. Let it drift to the Just drift to the right. Leave an uphill putt. Sounds easy, doesn’t it? [Applause] Go. I don’t know to go. That’s hit that little downs slope there. And hit the down, didn’t it? Got a bit lucky actually. That was good. 98 yards. I got lob wedge. kick. Want a little bounce right Dan? Don’t stay on that top shelf, Bernie. Go on. Go down there. Ah, stayed on there. That was a shocker, wasn’t it? I know that I know that shot kind of looks pretty bad, but the problem is if I landed it a foot further, two foot further, there’s a bit of a like a reverse McKenzie there and it kicks it forward and that’s what I was kind of trying to almost like avoid it. Greens look good. Plenty of grass on them, isn’t there? Nice and healthy. Put right. Okay. Left in. Nice pace, Bernie. These are today. They’re good, aren’t they? Really nice. Lovely. Yeah. Well done. You got five, haven’t you? Yeah. I’d be going pretty much straight at it. Okay. Maybe. Yeah. Straight at it, Bernie. You got positive up the hill. No, pulled it. Tried to come back though, didn’t it? Pulled it. Okay, five in. Got five. Right. 350 off here, isn’t it? It’s not overly long. There you go. Happy with that, Bernie? Yeah. Perfect. It five down the right little draw. That’s the plan. Yeah. No. Or that kick. Hit something. Bounce. Do something. No. I think Bernie’s picked up. Right. Hole 19 telling me I’ve got 119 middle. Got 108 flag. So I think 50° wedge. It is playing uphill, so it’s probably playing closer to 115. But I think if I can just leave it a little bit below the flag should leave me the better putt. Good looking shot. Get on it. Okay, done. The yardage is right there. Good job, mate. Cheers. Put it out. Yeah. Yeah. You stay there though. Might as well do something. Might do something today. Just walked up the hole. What you do is you early on when you’ve got a better partner than yourself, you want to put them under a bit of pressure to see how they cope with the pressure. Like do it early because you might need them later on in the round. And if they get the good experience of coping well with it, then they’ll be able to cope under pressure later on when it actually matters. Barely moved. It’s coming now. trying to come in the back door there, wasn’t it? No comment. No, nothing. Okay, we’ve got our path. Well done, ass five sort of wrapped across. I guess you’d call that a mountain. It’s carved into the side of the mountain. water down the right hand side with a sort of a fairway which slopes massively left to right. So everything generally ends up down the right hand side. Sit down. Hit it. It’s okay. Sort of kicked a bit right at the end of it. A little cut. I didn’t really feel that. Well, nothing wrong with that, Bernie. It’s a great shot. This one’s a bounce, isn’t it? Kick. Yeah, it should be short enough though. Yeah, bounce around. It’s good to do, won’t it? Yeah. Well done. Fairway found. It’s the first one. Might be the last. Right. I don’t want to leave myself too far back here because then if I just chip out, I’ve got 260 70 yards in. So, if I can thump something up through there, even if I got it 100 yards out, but I can get more than that. Maybe like a nine irs a little bit on the fairway. That’ll be all right. Shut up. Be all right. Okay, moving on. And just try and draw it into the slope. I think wherever I hit it, it’s going to end up down. It’s down the left side, but it probably end up on the right side of the hole. Everything goes down towards the towards the um pathway in the water, but should be right. I’m just in a divot here now. So, I’m just thinking that it’s going to come out probably a bit hotter. Would you say hotter? Should come out lower, shouldn’t it? It’s going to definitely come out lower. I just don’t think a wedge is going to get all the way there if I hit hit hard. Left. Pulled it off that lie. Get a kick. Need a bounce or something. Massive bounce. It could be down way down there then, might it? Don’t know. Yeah, here it Oh, there it is. See it? Stayed on just on the edge. Yeah, it stayed on. Oh, it’s so disappointing. So, you get a drop off this path, but obviously where you’re dropping is just divots everywhere, which is a shame. Anyway, my partner’s there. 90 into the wind. The li’s decent, which is unusual cuz everybody does play from down it. Definitely a little bit of a breeze there, Bernie. Yeah, that’s why I’m hitting I’m hitting 54, not 58. I like that. Good choice. Just left of the pin. Yeah. Anything? Well, not too far. Just go straight at it cuz anything just right at the pin is going to leave you a nice uphill putt. I think that’s the right. That’s good. Really nice play that well. Oh, it’s checked that dig in. Yeah, massively. Wow. Just killed all the took all the pace out of it. Okay. Yeah. Although it doesn’t look it now. Looks more right to left. It can’t be it. I’d get I wouldn’t go outside the hole. I’d go left half. Yeah. If I was putting that probably right, go right on it. It’s annoying. Not bad though. Take your P and run away. Thank you. It’s a five. That was an adventurous five on it. I should have told you going to do that. I would have a bit harder. What? It take a five on that. I’m glad I read your part cuz on mine I read it right half in the end. Yeah, which I would have read that originally. I’ have gone left. Left. Yeah, I just saw yours not move. You know, didn’t do anything. Hold on. That’s no damage done. No, you’re dead if you miss or left. misses right. We’ve got a fence that runs up and out of bounds right. And it also cuz it’s such a severe slope, it will kick left down if you’re not careful. You got 114 front. 114 front. 119 flag. So that flag is right on there. I got 50. Just cuz it’s so damn wind. What have you got? We got a 46 and a 50. But I like 50. It’s great looking shot down there. Sit, sit, sit, sit. Yeah, I get shot. That landed right on the front edge, didn’t it? Fade spin. Spin left on there. Oh, it kicked right, Bernie. Oh, yeah. Nice. Take it. Well done. Yeah. Right. What you thinking? Burnts. Oh, you you’d think it was left edge, wouldn’t you? But it looks like the holes cut the other way. So, I’m going to go more or less straight. I think your left half is a good shower. Early doors there. Uphill, isn’t it? Slower and into the wind. Into it. There’s a bit of breeze there, isn’t it? Breeze. You can feel it. Feel it. I can. Okay. As long as you can feel it. Come on then. Do what you do best, Ben. Too far. It too much pace. Good putt as well. Wow. And it wiggled, didn’t it? It It didn’t do it a lot because of the speed of it. Yeah. You gave it a clout. Some would say out the screws. Leave my putter alone. Love it. When you said into wind uphill, it’s not probably that, is it? That what we’re thinking? But it definitely moved left or right, didn’t it? Yeah. Fractionally not loser. No. Yes. Hey, good job. My knees flexed backwards, isn’t it? When I gone in house. The knee flex. Knee flex up. Take it. Well done. Oh, no balls. Burn twos. Should be good. Is that your three iron, Bernie? It’s like a little rescue club. Got four iron out, but do you think there’s probably fivewood? I just think if I b batter a fivewood, do you want to be further than that? Cuz that’s as close as I want to be to any green ever in my life. Oh yeah. Uh no. Well, you see, it’s more more the run out, isn’t it? Yeah. It’s more the runouts that I don’t I don’t want it to go beyond that. Bullet up the fast lane. I mean, it’s fine, isn’t it? Funny green this one, isn’t it? There’s a couple of slopes in it. Is it or is it the flat one? No, I think there’s a slope. 83 yards. You want to land it no more than probably go lob wedge. 75 to 80. Yeah. I’ve got a feeling that pin’s on a ridge. I’m just right of it. Like 10 maybe 8 foot. Okay. But I got a feeling it’s on a down bit of a down. Oh, you’re pin eye. Perfect. Spin spin spin spin spin spin. Wasn’t a great shot, was it? Plenty of swing, Bernie. Quite a bit of it in there. And kind of looks a little bit uphill from here. I’d said you’re here somewhere. Yeah. Coming in off that. Definitely. Good starting line. Good starting line. I could break now. Great put. No shots here, is there? No, I got one on the next. Um just on that side. I just see it kind of coming in there. Really? No. Went went pulled it a bit as well. Don’t need it, do I? Don’t need it. No. I don’t know. Very good. It’s one of those that I think this is a good one for at home as well for people that whenever you’re playing with a partner and you get a free part, I see so many people just go outside of what they normally do. They’ll either batter it straight. Did that, didn’t I? I battered it. Um, I think it’s good to just stick with what you know, you know what you’re going to hit. Finally. The furthest tree, the middle one of the three that you can see on the end. That’s 220. Perfect. Just go hard. Go now. Go a little. Didn’t hear any trees. Didn’t hear anything. So, did you I’m going to say that’s a positive. Might be a bit left. Come down. Come down. Don’t know. I don’t know. It’s probably just through, but I think see it down. I’ve actually ripped it. I think um I don’t think you’re in a bad spot there. It’s just in the shadows. Maybe 154. Is that right? I would say we’re in the perfect spot. Down wind. Nine or wedge. Nine. I don’t think I’ll get there. Wedge. No, I agree with that. It’s not a fly lie either. No. Just want to go a little bit. I think I love that bird. Delightful. Yeah. Nine. I got nine iron. I got four hole 19 telling me 148 off the app. Pin looks like it’s middish. Don’t overturn on me. Sit down. Going a bit left. Sit. Sit. Luckily, it stopped dead. It was on the green. It stopped dead. Didn’t bounce. Funny putt. It just feels like it wants to go that way, but just not seeing it. Initially, would have thought it’s a right to left P, but I think that first slope could take you to the right. [Applause] [Laughter] Free P you got now? Cool. Free part. I’d love to keep you off the card. Come on, keep me off the card. Get on the card, actually. Haven’t hit it. Free part as well. It just it’s kind of nestled into something there, didn’t it? You only concentrate so much on the line thinking it’s going to get there. Yeah. Not a long, is it? 380. Hit 220. Got 160. I’m just going to hit five and try and draw it. Yeah, I like that play actually. Keep coming. Keep coming. I think cuz you’ve span it so much, it should be all right. Stop. That could be in trouble. That burning. No, I can see it. It’s this side of the tree. No, I know. But little have to punch out of that. No. Be fine. Turn over hard. Turn over hard. Not coming, is it? Nope. Soft. Oh god. You should have been a surgeon touch. That was delicate, wasn’t it? So, the problem I see here as well is obviously 164 I’m landing it into that UPS slope there, aren’t I? Do you know what I mean? Yeah, I know what you mean. It’s going to kill it’s going to take all the sting out of it, isn’t it? But you don’t want to hit it hard and then in case you go over the top of it. Yeah, you can end up in a right picker, can you? I’m just going to forearm down there. I mean, that is so good. I reckon that’ll be long. Yeah, I can see it bouncing. Don’t bouncing. Got thumbs up. So, we’re roughly up there. I think 148 little seven similar to seven would be under that tree back foot, would it? Uh, yeah. How far you got? No. How far you got? 148. Okay. Yeah, I like that back foot. Punch it up there. Get it on that top shelf and let it run. Oh, I do like that. Oh, took a bounce, but no reaction. Never good. Yeah, man. Thumbs up. Take that. Take that. Absolutely. Take it from where we were. Dan played a nice shot. Come out fiery, didn’t it? Oh, duffed it. Go, go, go. Duff. All right, come on. Set up. Absolutely douff. Steady. Good putt. Really good putt, Benny. Had a chance. Wow. Let him read that. Jeez. Straight in there, Benny. Dead straight Pat. Come on. Well done. Cheers. Got on the card. Yeah. Yeah. On the card. What are we thinking then? In um So, I’m going to hit fivewood on the corner of it. Where you going to hit fivewood? Well, literally on the left hand side of the like where the the furst branches are out where the guy’s walking now. What’s the carrier map? Like if I go if I go at the tree, the bottom of the tree. Yeah. Is like 240. So I think probably about 260 to carry it. So I’m going to try and go just left of it. Too far right. Go do something. Oh, fade. Get cutting. Get cutting. Get cutting. Soft. Look at the bounce on that. Massive bounce. It’s ultra safe, isn’t it? Chip out down there. 174 y. Six iron. Batter it out. Every time. Yeah. Yeah. Wow. Your channel. Yeah, I would um like if we we could have done it without him like we s camera around. Don’t take much longer. Oh, never saw. This is stupid. Absolutely stupid. I could do with a camera cuz I could hit this now. Obviously, I can’t hit it while he’s up there unless he walks now. Coming at stop. Stupid bit snookered. just had the advantage of seeing playing part hit it and it so quick down there. So I’m just going to play like little seven iron just right at that trap to get it [Applause] running. Soft, soft, soft. Ah, so would it be short of that trap? He got me there a bit cuz I was going to go further right, but I just saw how it didn’t kick back. It stayed up there. I got 135 y that flag. I’m going to hit 50, I think, cuz I just think it’s everything’s flying so far at the moment. And it’s when it’s landing, it’s not stopping. So, hi. Looks good line. Looks a good line that. Go on then. Go on. Oh, sit. Goodness. Nearly went in. And how has that gone through the green? Wow. It’s a bit comedy at the moment, isn’t it? This bit comedy. Bounce, bounce, bounce. Nope. So much sand, man. I’ve got Well, what have I got this for? One, two, three there. Four. I’ve got this for a five, haven’t I? So, I got this for a point, which would be handy. Don’t remember this all being so hard last [Applause] time. Get it right. Get right. Get right. Get right. Get right. It’s a double Bernie. Nila. [Applause] Not that quick, is it? Get up. Not that quick. Get up. Travel. Let’s leave it short, shall we? Lucky, mate. No score. That would bite you like it just both are being bit the same hole. No, I know. But it just it just is the course, isn’t it? It can just nibble you nibble away and then bang. I think too much club off the tea to start. If it’s 171, got to be playing what 10 yards up. I would say it’s got to be a club for the wind though. Straight down wind. What you got? Six. I’ve got a six iron. I mean, if it’s a little short, if it’s short, it’ll bounce up. Yeah. I don’t want it to bounce up there, do I? Well, you want to land out there. I mean, if you don’t quite strike it. Yeah. That’s a great shot. Pretty good then. Great shot. Just interesting to see if that’s landed. Um, it looked like it landed on green, but it got a massive bounce. It got a nice kick upwards, didn’t it? Oh, so good. Get in the hole. Okay, have a breather. Have a breather over a bunker onto a down slope. Come on. We’ve been practicing these. Just hit the down slope. Exactly what you want to do. Stop [Applause] again. Bernie, you couldn’t do anything better than that. That was okay. Just not positive. It’s like landing on a patch of ice. Are you going to have a go, bench? Yeah. Just admiring the view then. All right. You try not to leave one short again. [Applause] Can you have a little look from down there, Bernie? Back up here. Just tell me. I know. a slightly different angle, but mine went that way across. I know it did. And I was I’ve read it the other way thinking Okay. Thinking it’s got to go that way. But then looking at what you both of yours have done both of ours have gone Huh. both of ours have gone that way. Do you see anything from there? So I mean it looks like it’s that way, doesn’t it? From where you are. Yeah. Got to go. Got to go. And it went left. Well, wasn’t one you could really attack, was it? Not really, but any can’t read it. It’s a straight straight par4, but it does bottle in a little bit with the tree on the right hand side coming out. The one on the left should be past the one on the left. So, the one on the right is probably more of the concern. Probably a driver really. 19 with a blob. 19 with a blob. Yeah, I was 17. 19 on. Yeah. And 17 for me. Yeah. It’ been all right if we blob. 21 been a good start, wouldn’t it? 21 would have been better than 19. 19. Anyway, you live and you learn, Bernie. Come on. Back nine. We’re BNS’s back n specialists. Go on then. Down you [Applause] go. Eye, doesn’t it? An arrow, doesn’t it? Goes eye. Got plenty of eye. Yeah. Thanks. Why? Why? Why does that club not make it out more often? really good. 72. Slightly into a wind, isn’t it? Six or seven. I’ll play seven for the fly. Be this little be that club flight. Yeah, it did. Did it go down? Good. That was lovely. I worked out that if you’ve if you wear socks like that, you’ve got to be able to pull shots off like that. Exactly. cuz you wouldn’t want to not hit that well with cuz you’re not cool. Like just saying. I’m just saying. Yeah. Is this fairway or not fairway? I don’t know where we are then. Not fairway. 158. That’s got into the breeze slightly, isn’t it? Yeah. 99. What? Um I mean I’ve got seven, but you hit seven, didn’t you? That’s too much. Into wind. So bouncy out here. I just don’t want I don’t want it I go with eight, but I don’t want it ballooning on me, Bernie. Cuz if it balloons, it won’t get I think I’m long from what you just said. Yours come out like a little train though, didn’t it? It did. Yeah. It wasn’t stopping at the station. No. No. Get right a little bit. Come on. It just pulled it. Kick. Just tugged it. Oh, don’t go in the bunker. Are you kidding me? Look at that bounce. Got horrible. I mean it from there probably 99 times out of 100 it kicks forward onto the it kicks just a fraction right and you’re on the green and it’s just kicked a right angles left. Don’t really understand that. Don’t think that AI was getting there. Oh a lot of cost fun for Easter. Beautiful. Sit. Wait. Sit. Good bang shot. Yeah. Again, it just uh subtle slopes around there, aren’t there? Downwind. So, it’s going to move early this way. Yeah. And then as it kind of wants to come down the hill, it wants to flatten out a little bit. Kind of got you out here. Yeah. Steady. Go on. Come on. bit of kind of hit that slope and just went, didn’t it? I’ve not got the pace of these, didn’t it? You knock yours in. I’ll give myself. Okay, Bernie. I watched it as it went past and the bunker shot was definitely coming in this coming out of my right now. Yeah, lovely. Great. All right, Bernie, you can have yours. Thanks. You can have that. Good two. Well done, mate. Solid. How far is it? I might as well go for it. You’re going to make par, aren’t you? It’s 350. I definitely can’t get there. Yeah, but you if you land it 260, it’s going to run out. It’s got to run 50 yards, isn’t it? Yeah, but you got to hit it straight. It’s one of my That’s one of the issues in golf straight. I’m Where do you want to go? Cuz um hole 19’s telling me if we hit it 200 y, but 137, we don’t have much in. The fivewood runs out runs out. And I thought you’d got your little hookie driver up. Well, no, because if I hit it straight, I’m out of bounds cuz that’s an out of- bounds post up there now, isn’t it? Perfect. If you can give me about 50 yards roll, that’d be good, eh? I just think I think you’re just going to Well, you do what you want, but I like that player for you. Look like a little Bernie ripper. I’m absolutely nutted that. Come on, keep up. This is good. Stay. That weight training is helping. It is. That weight training is helping. Just got You must You must do it a hard spot. 1 2 three four push-ups out of you. Please. Would you say you had 128? Yeah, I got 122. I’ve done you by six. Would you um I’m going to hit the 50 and bounce it in from the left. 122. Yeah, I like that, Bernie. Go hit the back of the bunker. Killed it, didn’t it? Killed it. Front of the green, I think. Just didn’t get it. Did you not? No, didn’t hit it at all. But I hit the face. I’m a little nervous here because what you got? I’ve got 50. I’ll get there easy. I didn’t know it’ll get there, but it was it when I hit 50 last time from 135, it went through the back. Right. Go right. Not our best two shots, was it? Good two- shots, though, weren’t they? Winning prizes for that shot. Disappointing. Mine’s quite a big swing. Yours doesn’t doesn’t look like it’s mine. No, I’ve just seen the exact same line. It didn’t move at all really. Mine’s quite a way out that left side there. Come on now. Turn now. Got a chance. Go on then. [Laughter] [Applause] Get in. Hey, easy old boys. Easy. Neither of you two on the green, will you? Come on then. Follow us in, Bernie. No point. I don’t want to waste them. Don’t want to waste them, do we? Don’t want to waste them, Dan. Do it. No, you you leave it short, Bernie. Save them. Well done. If you can, you can do the putting for me. That was a hell of a pack. He’s um he’s a good putter, a very good putter, but he’s very streak. I mean, his old two putts that probably I wouldn’t hold in a season. Yeah. 142 middle is what? Um whole 19 saying 145 to the flag, but it’s got to be playing, would you say? How many down? How many downhill do you reckon that is? Got to be seven or eight minimum is it? So what we saying then 145 then 130 137. What’s that wind doing? Should be fractionally. [Applause] Not a lot. What’s it doing? Hurting hurting fractionally but not I mean not a lot up there. Crack it. It looks like a temporary green is it? It’s tiny. The size of it. Okay. I’m going to go with nine iron then. to come on wind. Soft now. Soft. Soft. Soft. That do. [Laughter] Nice. I like that. I don’t know. I don’t know what I was thinking when that ball was in the air to be honest. There was a lot of going through my mind. Bunker over the back. Short. Short. Good now. Good now. What you got? Wedge. Okay. Oh, I’ve gone straight at it. It’s left. Go. Grab something. Grab something. Oh, it did as well. Hit the post. Plop. Plop. So, I put this new ink on on my balls. Yeah, it’s stay on. Absolutely. Like Sharpies scuff big time. This is not moving at all after about 9 hours. That’s like fantastic. These balls are all right. I found a dozen of those Irish ones. Stop. Stop. Stop. I was lucky was it? Let’s not do it. No, you found most golf balls. I think it does do in the Irish ones. Huh? Not I’m not expecting a joke from you. No, sorry. You don’t tell me when you’re doing a joke. Sorry. Swing it. Putter, aren’t you? But I’d be hitting out of the toe of the putter. Take all the pace of it. You’d be on your knees hitting this butt. You’d have all sorts of grips going on, wouldn’t you? All right. Hey, good job. You going, huh? Cheers, Lenny. Thanks. Look at the card. What stroking this is? I think it might be a shot. It is, B. You’re absolutely right. It’s stroke, too. You just got like a sense, haven’t you, that you know where the shot hole’s come. Wait, is it It’s fiddly, isn’t it? It is fiddly. Um, that tree. What’s 19 telling us? 380. I’m still good at whack. Yeah, it’s one of those that I’m just going to hit 3wood. I think you like threewood or you like fivewood? Like both of them the way you would it? If I hit a 3wood and keep it a bit right, it’ll be blocked out quite a bit, won’t it? You know what I mean? [Applause] Yeah. Perfect. Don’t balloon and go forward. Go. Perfect. It Yeah. Spot on. Nope. It’s all right. So spinny feet. Don’t know. I’m coming over for some more sport. Thanks. Got a long way in here. That can’t be right. Oh, well out of there. 209. What’s 205? Yeah, 209 looking. Yeah. Does it bounce a bit from the right if I remember? It definitely bounces in from the right. It’s not bouncing off that left. Look at the wind uphill. It’s so bouncy there, isn’t it? I reckon you could just flick a firebine in [Applause] there. Oh, squeezed it. Go. Going right. Kick. Kick left. Come on. Big kick down. Go on. Get friendly kicks. Get rolling. Little short right I think Bernie pushed it. 168 playing slightly uphill and then slightly hurting. That’s five iron too much. Probably playing 175. That was a shank nearly. Sit down. Sit [Applause] down. Oh dear. Just in between clubs, I reckon there. Such a tough lie that I don’t want to. Oh, I don’t want to throw it all the way because that is not a good enough light to Is it going to Is it going to bumble through there, Bernie? You think? Don’t think I’ve got a choice. It’s a lovely shot heading out. It’s class. Great shot done. Didn’t have much to play with there. Played that lovely, but I can’t play that shot because I’m playing on such a side slope. So, I’m going to have to grow some big boy pants. Try and land it over that bank onto the flat surface. Sit. Oh, love that, Bernie. Really good. Uh, right, Bernie, we’re going to go first. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Go for grab now. That way, is it cross? I don’t see I honestly don’t see a great deal in yours. Love that, Bernie. Love that free straight down the couple of tears in I think there’s a diff and then up and then down about 182 83 183 [Applause] ready 183 what do you think it’s playing never mind you have to wait till you edit it 183 got to be playing what 10 down more than that I reckon 15 I’m going to play it so let’s say it’s all right so let’s give or take let’s say 170 a lot of calculations going 170 and then wind into the wind out the right. 170 out the right. Don’t know that about 20 different numbers. Six. What are you going at? Six. Yeah, just a nice smooth. Stay in there. Bailed on that. Completely bailed on the trap. Get left of the trap. [Applause] Don’t know where that’s ended up. We got going a lot less. Seven. No. Eight. Beautiful. Go a little then. Is it enough club? I don’t know. Big kick forward then. No. Front edge. I’ll take it. Huh? I’ll take it. Is it on the grain? Front edge. Okay. Bernie’s just done a video with the Tacomao irons, but unfortunately he’s calling them Tamokco all the way around in his review. Why don’t they make it a simpler name? Like one that people actually say and pronounce. I think Did you like them? Okay, actually. Yeah, I think they I think they’ve got your name written all over them. The only the only thing I’d say the the Bernie they’re not that forgiving. Well, the blades I know, but yeah, but I’ve used like sub70 blades are more forgiving. Sub70s? Well, that sub7 is a good iron. You should have stuck with them. Well, no. You just got to stop messing about the club. I was hitting it lower and lower. At least he’s going stick what you know. Whatever. I tell you what, the confusion right now of whether these greens are going to actually grip or release. I just don’t know. Just don’t know what they’re doing. It’s this time of year. It’s nothing to do with the golf course. It’s just getting a bit of inconsistencies this time of year. You’re not used to playing it like this. It’s really soft. Like short of the green. It’s like There’s nothing like that. [Applause] See that? Released subtle. Steady now. Steady now. Steady. Look at that go. Played that well. Slow, didn’t it? The question is, Bernie, can you take it that way? Stop. Can you putt it as if the hole is here? Yeah. And then and then let gravity will do everything else for you. So you’re just putting your putt into a hole that’s there. Yeah. Got to make sure I get it there, though. Yeah. Well, you will. [Applause] Not breaking that much. Oh, it’s long. Steady, steady, steady, steady. Average. Yeah. Not great, was it? Well, you got it to the hole you were looking for. Yep. That was a lot of swing in the [Applause] end. Wiggle, isn’t it? It wiggled. Poor. Okay, moving on. Hole 19 saying 260 to the front. Yeah, uphill but downwind. Shouting four yourself. Oh. Oh my god. Seen that shot left. Is that out of play left or I’m just going to hit five in it. Yeah, I like that. Good play, Bernie. M just sens it. Sound like me, but okay. I’ll hit a provisional, guys. I’ll just hit one more. That’s the one. That’s all over it. Go on hard. 84 yds uphill. Right in between clubs. I’m going to play 54. Let’s get this in close, mate. I like it. Spin on there. Spin. Spin. Spin. Bit long. Slope. We need some magic. Need some clear thinking coming in. So, I’m going to flick my magic mind down me. I got 45 y. We need a little bit of magic to flick it up and over this tree if I can. Spin. Spin. Spin. Red. Bernie. Set. Turn. Bunker. Bunker. I didn’t know there’s a bunker there. Oh, I just club just bounced on me. Big wedge of sand behind my ball here. Release. There’s no way. Get over it. Get over it. Go forward. How’s that grabbed? Complete duff. Get down the Get down there. Get down there. It’s not going, is it? No. Is that not downhill? It’s all uphill to that marker and then it wants to go down just left. Go. Oh, no way. That’s like glue down there. That is another bogey. Wow. Left. It’s slow and it doesn’t move like you think. It doesn’t move. See, it doesn’t move. That’s gone. Yeah, it’s hitting yours dead straight there. Just looking at what mine did. Yeah. I can barely move down there. Not as quick as it again. It’s a free part, isn’t it? Yeah. Nope. Wow. Look, it’s finished. Five. Look, mate. Oh, that’s terrible. Down. Sorry. I don’t know what that was all about. What am I doing? Damn. How we dropping shots? Back to back bogeies. Two of us. Oh, I can see a birdie out of you on the s bouncing drive, I think. Oh, yeah. Tiger line. God, go. No idea. No, no idea. The crab went silent. Yeah, no one’s telling it. Love, would it? Yeah, I just don’t know if it overcooked it. Keep going. Down 17 maybe. Yeah, but I think that could be really good. That is not me. I reckon he’s played my ball. See what Dan’s got. I got 194. I got 194 I think. I’m I’m quite blocked out here. Where’s the water? I don’t even know where the water really is. It’s like a stream at the front. It’s It’s I got 203 and I’m I’ve got to hook it around these trees. It’s either wedge wedge in it or go for it. But I mean, yeah, you’re going to have to hook it massively. But do you think uh at 200 ys do you think six iron’s too much? We’re turning in. No. No. I don’t think it’s too close. That is so good. Be the club. Don’t overturn too much. Kick now. Kick. I think it’s up. I can’t any better. I can’t do any more. It was landing left side of the green. Yeah. But I don’t know. No idea. Oh no. It’s bowled it. It’s all right now. I think. [Music] Don’t know what’s over there. Could be in the ditch. Bernie, that was stupid. Why have I not just laid up? [Applause] Well, that’s the end of that hole because we can’t No one saw it go in the water. So, I don’t know. It’s not over the back and no one saw it go in the water. So you got to be able to see it go in in order to accept that it’s gone in, you know. So it’s a blob, Bernie. Yeah. I can’t tell if mine was in there either. So moving on. Oh, Bernie. Right, Bernie. Big finish. Not a big finish, was it? But we need a big finish. Birdie birdie finish. Oh, come down. Bit left. Come down. Come through. Feel like a deflated balloon like that. Keep cutting. Keep cut. Failing. Keep cutting. Yep. Bunker. Yeah, probably. Okay. Come on. Let’s birdies to finish. Couple of birdies to finish. Strong. Straight at it. finish. He likes it. He likes it. Go. Oh, yes. Great shot. That It’s a broken wrist if you hit it hard. I don’t want a broken wrist. You all right? The good thing is you go in the bunker, you don’t even need the rake. How we doing, partner? 129. Go way 50. Just had to hack it out. Then I had no shot. At least you’re out, mate. Good shot yours. Hopefully it’s got close enough. Zoom in on that pin, Joe, cuz this is straight down. It burn straight at it. A little bit right now. Just drifty now. Kick back. Not landing with any sort of stop, are they? Coming out rough though, is it? Yeah, fair enough. Come on then. Slightly uphill. Moving a little out the right. Oh, get up there. That was always moving, wasn’t it? Can’t beat that, can I? Four. Always moving, Bernie. Come on, DH. Strong finish. Let’s move up that lead board. Two T’s, though. It’s just a disappointing disappointing day. I don’t feel like we’ve played that badly. We just not played the same holes. We played the same holes badly. We’ve just egged, haven’t we? We haven’t hammed and egged. I’ve puted awfully. Um, it does sound good when you hit it out of the middle of that putter, though. You know, I’ve been playing quite well with it, to be fair. I’ve been quite happy with it, but I think the uh I think the lab’s back in next round. Anyway, we are level. I’m three plus three, I think. So, yeah. So, um, strong finish barely for 37. Yeah, why not? You get it as well. Okay, let me get that. Just a bit in the toe. Go hard left. It’s definitely hit something, isn’t it? That tree is right in the way. I know. That tree’s right there. Nope. Keep going left, then. Go left. Go. I saw it bounce. Don’t know. No idea. 175. Hoisty over tree. Sat up like a little honeymoon. I’m thinking seven iron. Are you fading? I’m hoisting. What’s hoisting mean? Taking Well, I’m hitting up. So therefore, spin adding loft, but I’m going to take spin off. So therefore, the ball is going to launch high and spin less and float. Love it. onto the green like a butterfly with sore feet. With sore feet, you like that. I can’t wait. And also, I don’t think six is getting over the trees. I’m looking forward to watching this on the actual um video that shot tracer as it comes out. It’ll be beautiful. Yeah, watch watch this. I’m excited by this. Yeah. Slightly downwind chip out sideways. I’ve been waiting all day. But if you hit it like that. I was told you I was going to hit that. That is the best shot you’ve ever hit. Oh, what a bounce as well. Oh, it’s gone right to the pin now. It’s on the back. It’s on the green. It’s a great shot. I told you it would get there. It’s like 5 foot. It did everything I said it would do. I launched it up in the air, hoisted it, didn’t I? You didn’t mention the kick off shot because I was delivering an angle of attack more up on the ball because it’s sat up on the grass and therefore that allows the ball to fly through the air quite nicely and then when it lands it releases out in trees if you hit it hard you get a bigger bounce off them. So I’m going to play it softer. Watch this. So if you hit it softly well I don’t know what you’re doing. Right. So, I’m just going to play like a low one through the gaps, but I’m going to hit it soft because see I think you can hoist one up with a massive amount of bubber curve. You’re joking. Get it on there. I do. I see that. Yeah, I see that shot with an eight time eight time with slide. What? Eight iron with slide. It’s going to go further than what your little through the trees is going to do. Speak dirty to me. I’m going nine iron and I’m going to Yeah. Yeah. Watch this. I’m watching. He was left-handed though, wasn’t he? He was lefty, but I’m Yeah. [Applause] Oh, it’s flicked the tree. It’s a bit unlucky. It got there. No, it’s bungry, I think. Oh, sounded woody. Hit the wood. Not bad, though. I think it got further than what your other is going to get. I don’t know cuz I was going to flick it off each tree on the way through. Okay. Show us some magic, Bernie. What’s this, Dan? Oh, dear me. Delightful. Oh, that little bunker lip out. Still got it, didn’t we? Still got it, haven’t we? How do you want the pin? Take it away, Bernie. I don’t see a lot in this. You seeing much from up there? Um, no. I think it would be in here somewhere, wouldn’t it? Oh, whacked it. Sit down. Sit. Sit. I got that right out the middle. Nope. Just moved, didn’t it? I think I might have pulled. Moved early. Yeah, it’s in. Ah, that didn’t do anything. Three butt finish. Lovely. So, that was awful. Well, Bernie, unfortunately, that was one over for us as a team. Yeah. And I was plus four in the end with a little three putt finish. We just I mean, you played lovely to start with and then you got it going. start of the back nine, couple of really good putts and then I made that net barely straight after and I felt like we were pushing towards sort of 42 43 points which is what you need in this. I agree. And then just we just didn’t dovetail, did we? We played the same holes badly. Yes. Um I I wasn’t good at all really the whole day. Um I feel like your score should have been better the way you hit it. You only get a few duff duff drives, but No. Uh the it was the par five that upset me. That last one at the end there. Yeah. I saw the ball land over the water, but I couldn’t tell what happened to it cuz we were sort of 200 odd yards away. Unfortunately, the people on the tea didn’t see it. No. Um, and our playing partners who were about 90 yards away also didn’t see it where it landed. Yeah. Anyway, we move on. I just want to take this opportunity to thank uh Bernie for being involved as always. Thank you for partnering me and thank you for Love it, mate. As always. Um, but I also want to take this opportunity to thank Ouximity for uh helping with this brake pass series. It’s live to fight another day when it comes to the scoring and the brake p. And we will do it hopefully on the next outing. Thanks for watching.

  1. Well done gents. Enjoyable vlog. Nothing more deflating than both blobbing the same holes in a betterball.

  2. What a beautiful day at Tivvy, don't tell everyone because our roads in North Devon are busy enough. Summer is coming ☀️🏌️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇨🇵☀️

  3. I suggest both you and Bernie take the experimentle clubs out of your bags and go back to traditional clubs. Could have been a great round.

  4. Tiverton looks interesting. Never played it for some reason. Looked at joining in lockdown but chose to re-join Minehead instead! Really enjoyed the vlog. Old school.

  5. Nice video mate show the cruelty of stableford with no shots😂.
I heard you mention some new ink for marking your ball better than sharpy can you let us know what it is please

  6. Great vlog lads. Some quality golf on display there. You two always make a great team, love the ryder cupping

  7. Dan & Bernie – I looked up the rule for you:
17.1d relief for ball in penalty area
If a player's ball is in a penalty area, including when it is known or virtually certain to be in a penalty area even though not found, the player has these relief options, each for one penalty stroke:
Store this one in the memory banks so you don't cost yourselves points in the next comp 🙂

  8. Really enjoyed this, much like the trevose video!!

good to hear though process and shot selection!

Look forward to more of the same

  9. Not quite got the rule right on the red stake area, Dan. If you’re virtually certain it went in you can take relief. So if all in the group is agreed it went in the water you can drop. If though just one says he’s not virtually certain then you can’t. If it can’t have been anywhere else the I’d say you could have take relief.

  10. I'm fairly certain my grandad was a member of Tiverton GC in the early 70s (before I was born).
