The NIAA hosted the 5A boys state championship at Red Hawk Golf and Resort on Monday and Tuesday. Coronado (603) left with the top honor as a team, while Shadow Ridge’s Andrew Stout (76, 70) claimed the individual title. McQueen’s Zach Petersen trailed Stout by three strokes at the end of the final round, earning him the second place position as an individual.

Zach Petersen entered Tuesday’s round one stroke back of the leader and played an even round despite the rough conditions on the course. Bishop Manogue’s team finished fourth in the championship, behind Coronado, Bishop Gorman and Shadow Ridge, but beat the next best north team by 48 strokes.
