Highlights of the third round at the 2025 Turkish Airlines Open, where Brandon Robinson Thompson tied the course record with a stunning round of 62.

The European Swing kicks off as the DP World Tour heads to Türkiye for the first time in six years at the Turkish Airlines Open. After six years away, the DP World Tour returns to Türkiye for the eighth edition of the Turkish Airlines Open. European Ryder Cup Captain Luke Donald plays this week alongside a raft of DP World Tour winners, many of whom will be looking to impress ahead of September’s contest. Winner last time out Marco Penge tees it up as does fellow recent first-time victor Richard Mansell. Overall there are 28 winners from across the past two seasons and the current campaign and they are joined by five local professionals and two Turkish amateurs.

Good start from BRT. Brandon Rollinsson Thompson. That takes him 300 under through the first five holes and he is within three shots of the lead. Second Z par three. Tough one. Just slightly up the hill. So visually reasonably intimidating. Another front flag. Didn’t get the memo. Great shot. You may have seen the how still the flag was and that’s probably contributing to the scoring we’re seeing out there today as well. Hardly a breath of wind. Here’s Campio. Dropped a shot at the first. Think the front flag helps the longer bunker shot. The lips not in play. Has he carried the front? No, he’s just come up short. It looks like there’s a ball down there about 20 short. That’ll be interesting. Smith for his par down the hill. Get in. Oh, that’s a great par save. That could be so valuable come tomorrow evening. Keeps the superb round going. Yeah, a lovely stroke from Campio. He adds another birdie to the total. Yeah, we’ve seen one or two good shots in here. It’s hard to judge, but long is the shot. Oh, what a big bounce. All of a sudden, those nerves have all disappeared. Yes, that’s a lovely settler, isn’t it? Got to gamble if he wants to get it close. It’s tight, right? This [Applause] one asking it to go and it did. Be good. Yes, it is good. 190 today at the eighth. Going along nicely. Three birdies and a bogey. And another excellent iron shot. We’ve seen most of the players feel like they’re dialed in today. Campo to round off his front nine with another birdie. This for three in a row to the turn. That new putter he put in the bag in India is certainly working. gone to a center shaft. It’s made a difference to his game cuz I think he was he was struggling on the greens for a while just off the left. I fancy this one from the back. Yeah, beautiful putt. He did get what he deserved. Tiger Christensen. Slow one up the hill. Gone. Yes, sir. It’s a bonus birdie at 10. Well, the pace was good. He was just trying to drop it in the right hand side, expecting it to move, and it didn’t. But there you see how quick it was coming off that ridge. It wouldn’t have taken much more to feed down. Coover yesterday showed no signs of nerves. Today it feels like a different story. A little bit more tentative I think Mark. Yes, you can see it, can’t you? I think that really rattled him that the pot that horse shooted out a few holes ago. I think that’s really just unsettled him. I thought he’d settled down, but now what has Yuan Ferguson learned from the putt of his playing partner? And it looks like a lot. This is incredible putt from long range. Eagle three for the Scotsman. Well, we saw the second shot from Matthew Jordan. In fact, it’s caught the bunker. normally a very good bunker player and that’s a brilliant golf shot. Had to almost desel into that and use the fringe to get it close otherwise it would have chased 15 foot party. Can’t believe it’s come up short. That’s how good a shot he played. Yeah, I couldn’t agree with you more Anthony. That was a fabulous bunker shot. Really awkward stance and stabbed it into the fringe. So this would be a great par save. Now that just happens a little too often for me with Matthew unfortunately. It’s a horrible thing to happen on the last green. Now, this is a result of the second shot of Brandon Robertson Thompson at the par five. Long way right. He has been chipping really well. Go on. Get in there. That was magnificent from where he was. Yes, he had plenty of green to work with, but there was some subtle slopes to go down. That is tremendous. He’s got a lovely touch, hasn’t he? Really has. We’ve seen it a couple of times this season. He had a terrific year on the Hotel Planet Tour. You formerly known as the Challenge Tour last season. Anything long and over this green, you’re coming back down grain. Is this cutting back? Twistler. The club normally a good sign. That’s a great golf shot. That really is coming off a very poor front nine. That’s his shot of the day so far. I know he hit one pretty close early doors on the front line, but that was way better. Oh, it’s a shame. That would have been a massive birdie for him in the context of his day and the tournament as well. It’s still a very good par four. They’re always good par fours at 10. Seven under on his day so far. Front flag today. Not easy to get out. Just over the bunker. It’s been a popular spot and quite a lot of break from the left on that putt. Big swinger. Yeah, that’s impressive, isn’t it? 15 out of 15 greens in regulation becomes 16 out of 16 for Brandon. Beautiful all the way, wasn’t it? Lovely part from Brandon Robinson Thompson. Two in a row, 15 and 16. He’s eight under par today and he is two shots clear. Robin Williams does make his birdie really nice up and down there at 12 for him. So he moves under par for the day. Two birdies and three holes to start the back nine. We’ll be drawing this some sort of eight iron, I would imagine. Oh, he’s had an absolute result there, hasn’t he? He’s pulled that slightly. It’s come off left. You can see from the reaction. Oh, that was Well, you know what? If you go on to win, it can beat moments like that. Can he finish left or right? He can. What a round of golf. Yeah, he ties the course record does Brandon Robinson Thompson with that closing birdie. A 62 Robin Williams. Nice birdie at 12. Hold your line. Hold your line. Yeah, lovely. Another one at 13. So, he’s very quickly getting things back on track. Look at that. Three birdies in four holes. Now, Campio, at this point, the battle’s on really to see who’s going to be alongside BRT, Brandon Robinson, Thompson, the final group. And that is as good as we’ve seen. Now the quality of the approach shot calls for a birdie here and Campio confidently strokes that one home. So he has got out of the group at 10 under bar. Should be just on the eight. He’s hit the car path down there to the right of 15. And we’re also hearing that it has gone out of bounds. Oh, that is straight at it. Indeed it is, Jamie. What a shot. That is really 200 and change. all about this flag. If you’re short, there’s a fair chance your three putt. So, I don’t expect Campio to do that. And once more, underrated. Very underrated. I always think, Mark, the long putts and you keep them stone dead. It’ll take the pressure off you. Yeah, he’s always been good at this, hasn’t he, Campio? He’s a player that just plots along and you you think, well, he’s not that impressive, but he is in the fact that he doesn’t have any weaknesses. This for a five, though. Off the left into the grain this one. Let’s hope it goes in for the par. Go on then. Go on. Yes. There you go. Sometimes you get what you deserve. What a five. Yeah. Look at that. You I mean Jamie talked about the fire in the belly and you look at that. I mean that is gritted teeth. Well, Williams put up the hill. Now it’s good. I like his stroke very much. He’s really solid. I mean, he’s strong and it’s just a little rock at the shoulders. Nice firm grip and it owes him something. The golf course needs to give him just one at least. Oh, it might. It might. That’s one of the best we’ve seen. Overall, it’s really not far straight putt. He’s got it. Whatever. Just maybe inside right. Plenty of pace. Well done. That’s what it means. He’s still trying his heart out and so he should now big divot, but he’s looking it up and down. Oh, super shot. Really good. What a lovely way to finish for the birdie. Williams down the hill just a bit off the left. Lovely. What a nice way to finish. Been a terrific back nine, hasn’t it, for Robin Williams. Five birdies. It’s a round of 67 and he will go into the final round in a share of second place. Three shots back. From what we’ve seen, that should be a good read. Right, Lip? It is. Yeah, world class finish from Howong Lee. Two great birdies from the pair of them. Hasn’t been quite dialed in with this club so far. Oh, that’s a beauty. There you go. At last. He’s waited a long time for that. Just aiming a little bit right here. Okay. Well, it is going to be a closing par for the Frenchman. He looks tired, Mark, doesn’t he? You know, he really does. And I just think there’s a lot of nervous energy going through it. Whether you like it or not, or whether you accept it or not, today was always going to be a hard day. And I don’t think he’s far away. Both of the final group are going to be overpar. Nice way to finish the day, but as you say, not a very satisfying one overall. 72 for Nenina, but just the one birdie coming there at 18 Brandon. Phenomenal stuff. Nine under par 62. you’ve equaled the course record. I just got notified that and I was a bit bummed that I didn’t break it. Did you feel you could? No, I mean obviously I wasn’t really thinking about it, but I’m just um you know, super excited again to have another nice round and get it going. The scary part was I probably could have had a few more, but you know, beggars can’t be choosers. Three birdies in the first five holes. At what point did you think today’s going to be a good day? When I woke up this morning, you know, um I’m here with my wife. We’re staying in a beautiful hotel. The renum course is amazing. Um, but to your point, starting with three buddies was also uh really nice. Um, hitting the green in two on number 10 was also really nice today. So, uh, after that, yeah, I knew it was going to be um, pretty good. And what are you going to do tonight to make sure you wake up in the same mood tomorrow cuz I imagine you just want to go out and play that final round straight away. N I mean, this is golf. This is what we have to deal with. Like I said, it’s hard not to enjoy yourself this week. the facilities, the course is so are so good and I’m, you know, here with my wife at such an incredible place. So, I mean, if you’re not having a good time this week, win, lose, or draw, you know, there’s something wrong. I hope the good times keep rolling for you, Brandon. Thanks very much. Cheers.
