[Music] Your attention please. This is match number three. A forsome’s match between the European team represented by Sergio Garcia and Martin Kimer against the United States of America team represented by Jimmy Walker. and Zack Johnson on the team representing Europe. Martin Kimer, two-time major champion, Martin Kimmer from Dusseldorf in Germany. His fourth Rder Cup. the man who hold the winning putt memorably the last time we were here in the states. Third forsomes for Martin in Ryder Cup. Harved both matches so far [Applause] on the team representing the United States of America, Zack Johnson. First of for the man from Iowa cover. Good luck, gentlemen. USA. His right foot slipped there. [Music] Unusual. Bunker to bunker. [Applause] Jimmy Walker. Beautiful iron player. Not this particular time. I think I must have jinxed him a little bit. And that is a huge pull there. Didn’t expect that. That’s an atrocious shot is even under this sort of pressure. That’s this for par. Jimmy Walker. First get it high enough. No ran it well [Music] by never moved. Garier and Kima make five. That’s a very friendly start by these two pairs. Certainly is. And this is a bit of a tester here. You don’t want to lose the first to a Vogue. This has got to go in or they’re just toast. Time to settle the nerves. The second. It looks like all four players need to settle their nerves. Interesting way that the player started. Maybe not quite the start that Europe were after, but it’s very early days. A pretty awkward shot here for Zack Johnson off a slight downs slope going to a green that’s above him. Bunker to carry has to catch this absolutely clean. Oh, he thinned it. Get lucky. Didn’t look the best of those. [Applause] Balls run a long way into these bunkers. You don’t get that. Just a little flip out. It’s always 15 ft in only rake the bottoms. Kimo second into the second. The T- shot from Garcia. Oh, that’s better. [Applause] Garcia the second. This for the win. Good chance. Anyway, you saw the marker of Walker and Johnson and that’s a power put. Here is the puck for a half by the Americans. Zack Johnson. Been off form the last few months. A good time to find it. And that was a misread as well because that went left at the hole and he aimed it left. So a very edgy start by the Americans. Zack Johnson playing with Jimmy Walk up the first two holes. Need to settle down. Hit it. Hit it. Hit it. Hit it. [Applause] Garcia. Just a little dink. Should try and move right to left a little. This was coming but not quite enough. Just going almost back at the hole. Nicely played. Jimmy Walker to try and make a birdie here and win the hole for the Americans. And Okay, not quite getting the line. Always seem to be on the wrong side there. Going away at the hole. Shouldn’t present Kim too many problems. He’s a nerveless individual. Great wild card because you know you’re going to get exactly what you’ve been seeing. And he’s been pretty solid without any fireworks for the last couple of months. See the flags in the distance here just blowing a little bit left to right. GI aiming on the left edge of the green trying to move this one a little left to right to the flag. [Music] Wow. One of the players who stopped it a little shakily. [Applause] on the green just nasty lie here for Kima on some wet muddy ground. Have to get the contact perfect. Not K’s favorite shot. Slightly muddy chip to say the least. [Applause] [Music] [Applause] It’s not a bad effort at all from where he was. Now Garcia for par for the Europeans at the fourth. [Applause] That brings a smile to his partner’s face. Set up by the good chip from Ka. His feet look about size 18 there. It’s weird. Oh, nicely done though. Two P from distance. [Applause] Good T-shot from Kimmer at the fifth. That’s pretty good shot from Sergio. Gives his man a chance to make the three. Not a bad play either on the layup hold to lay it back a little and go first. Jimmy WA made an impressive debut and won Eagles two years ago. Played all five with Ricky Fowler and then won his singles against Lee Westwood. [Applause] Well, way out for distance. That’s eight, nine yards past the pin. [Applause] Zack Johnson for a body at five. Does he make it? Kimo for victory and they are on the fifth. Left it shut. That will hurt. Good chance missed there by the Europeans. [Applause] Now at the sixth, Zach Johnson has a chance for birdie up over a ridge and never got that quite high enough. Martin Kima part here to win the hole at the sixth. Oh, and he had it on the right line. Just lacking pace. So that hole will be harved. Europe remain one up. Jimmy Walker got beautiful timing and a lovely golf shot. That’s what we’re used to seeing from Jimmy Walker right there. Settled down a bit. That had a lot more tempo. Garcia at the seventh. Got it. And will that one come back? Yes, it will. That’s lovely there. That one has a chance. Beautiful golf shot there. This for the half at the seventh. Zack Johnson. A little right to left and he puts it in. Nice cut. Pair of birdies have the hole at the seventh. See one up. Garcia at the eighth. Try to hit a little fade to this back right hole location. 189 yds. It’s the way you play the hole there. Beautiful shot. Jimmy Walker needs to take dead aim here [Applause] and [Applause] does first to go on the eighth ping for a two here. Martin Kimmer Americans are in pretty cozy. [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] Just too much speed. Seen this putt go a little bit to the right. Coming up over a bit of a ridge. Europe and the US both putting for par here. Nice putt. He’s hold a couple of nice putts already today. [Applause] Sergio. Now Jimmy Walker needs this to have the hole at the ninth. Currently one down. It’s in. Whoa. Just snuck it in the left side. Two really good putts there. RC and Kimer. One up. Garcia at 10. Going with the driver. All right. Right. A little. You like to split? Stay out the bunker. Yeah. Split in the bunkers. Shows you the severity of the downs slope here on 10. Now, Zack Johnson. Yes. [Applause] [Music] Will it get back there? No, but still all right. Kimer, it’s tough shot here from the bunker. Left bunker. Got to catch the ball first. Get it over to the right side of the green. Maybe try to hit a draw. Or how about right at it? Lovely golf shot. That’s one of the best shots we’ve seen today. This for birdie, Jimmy Walker. [Music] Very quick going down the hill. Very quick down the hill. Beautiful putt. just stopped breaking at the hole. The man who’s been putting very well for the Europeans is Garcia. Got a putt to win the hole. Little slippy one down the slope. Try to hit it in dead pace. It’s the way he cuts. He likes to hit use the whole hole. [Applause] [Music] Garcia second at the 11th. [Music] Protracer shows you a big flare to the right. We’ve seen some pretty interesting shots so far this morning. It’s amazing. And the course is pretty wide. I mean, it’s quite wide open. And I don’t whether that’s encouraging sometimes some of these players to give it a dig then long way right of the 11th. Not a great deal of green to work with. Bunker he has to carry. Nasty grassy lie that’s been trampled down. Oh, and that is a splendid shot. Just just remind me John, it is it is Friday morning, is it? It’s not Sunday afternoon. That’s right. It’s You saying it’s unruly yet? Huh? It’s for the win. Just melted over the hole. This is Martin Kimer. Match three, first to go here. the 12th. Similar to where Ricky Fowler was earlier. Hit the green from there. See if this chases up. It’s a false front there. Catches it. Will roll back. Zack Johnson hates it at the 12th. A pull. The bunker rolls down to the bottom. Short side. Tough shot to get up and down from there. First to go. Kima. Just a little bit of movement on this green from his right. Not one of his better puts I’ve seen him make. Now, Zack Johnson at the 12th was for a par save to win the hole. Really good up and down by the US team out of that bumper. Shortsided themselves and managed to get all square now. Tracer giving us the line. Not the longest of hitters of the ball, Zack Johnson, but certainly one of the straightest. Kim off the 13th T. And moving quite a lot left to right, finding the salmon. [Applause] Sergio needs to nestle this one. Find a way to get it close. He’s cut the legs off underneath that. That was a magnificent shot. Now Walker to win the hole. Was in match three. Right in the middle. Walker and Johnson. Now one off on Garcia and [Applause] Ka. We’re going to see the flag from there. It’s a very tricky shot for Kimmer. [Music] playing a beautiful shot. Back to 14. Zack Johnson. American pair. One up. Well, two pretty much equidistant putts. USA. Jimmy Walker for Birdie. Oh, what a beautifully judged P that was. What a turnaround in this match. This for a half of the blue will disappear from the scoreboard. Well, they’ve just lost three holes in a row and that’s how quickly things can turn in forms. [Applause] Suddenly Walker and Johnson really have the tail up. This has been a big match that’s turned around. Suddenly go two up. They found the confidence now. Second shot. Beautiful swing. Beautiful swing. Beautiful. Once this player starts holding putts, they start to feel that they’re involved. And it took them a while to get going. 15th Sio Garcia. They’ve lost three holes in a row, the European pair to the quiet of the 16th for the moment. Anyway, I’m afraid that’s the shot that Martin Kmer has struggled with so much over the [Applause] years. Just gives more confidence to last year’s open champion. Now, Zack Johnson putting down the hill. [Applause] Fourth for the Americans. Garcia will have this chip shot for a half. And if this doesn’t go in, it’ll be the fourth hole, one in a row for the Americans. That is some turnaround in this match. Johnson and Walker Tommy three. Walk up at the long 16th. [Applause] You got it, Zack. Got to win every hall. The Europeans [Applause] [Music] every cross here or what? Well, they’re not going to let us steal. Well, this is the format. Remember that Europe won 7-1 last time round at Glen Eagles over the two sessions. In danger here of losing 4-0. Yeah, there’s been a lot of momentum changes in a a morning session of four balls, hasn’t there? It’s uh quite unusual. Great swing. That was a lovely swing. Caddy was right. They do say that every shot, but that’s what they’re paid to do. But very nice. [Applause] [Music] [Applause] Yes. Nothing special there. There was a divot the size of a half rug. That was looked a little bit fat, did he? Oh, it was borderline, wasn’t it? Yeah. Only one body on the card for Garcia and Kimmer. Walker and Johnson. DM me three on Garcia and Kima. Martin Kima really really needs to hold this. Yeah, they haven’t looked good on the greens. Zack Johnson. [Music] [Applause] Why not? Ah, terrific. What a performance by the USA in this opening line. Absolutely superb. I think they found the rhythm. They got the rhythm. They got the music. Four and two. Well, Davis Love really couldn’t ask for things to go a whole lot better. Mickelson and Fowler can deliver. It could be a white wash for the first time in 37 years. To watch another RDER Cup video, click here. To subscribe, click here.
