And then I missed the birdie put. That’s gone. That’s goal. That’s the closest. That’s the closest I’ve been. Right. So, we’re going to do nine holes. Uh stroke play. Yeah. Like it’s just a scary scary. I I I just worry about skulling it all the way through all the time. Big time. It’s like so I I’m the strongest part of my game is the putter. Yeah. Don’t worry about doing anything other than working yourself into a stuper. And you would you, like I said, when you went to Austria particularly. Yeah. It was those 6 5:30 a.m. wake up call 6 a.m. on the bottom of the mountain. Yeah. And you were doing the shuttles up and down it. Yeah. And then it was 1:00 training session and then a 6:00 training session at night. But I loved it. Honestly, I’m not I’m not bantering you. I loved it. The outfield players, they they got fogged to death. They were so tired all the time. Um yeah, but for us goalies, what sort of stuff would he do? Like I say the morning session was just doggies. You’re running up the mountain, walk down, run up the mountain, walk down um for about an hour. And then the afternoon session was disguised running playing football. So it’s football. You’ve got football at your feet at least, but you’re doing shuttles with it. And then at night, you would actually play a bit of football, but you were so tired by the time the night came that you there was no quality in it or anything. And then you always played a last game as well. So the day before you were about to fly home, you’d play a preseason friendly against god knows who. We played PSG one year, we played somebody else. And we got battered every time cuz the lads were just dead on their feet. But it was wicked. I used to love it. It was so so good. Such a lovely country as well. industrials. Tony Pierce, what was he like? Lovely. Great man. He always comes across great on TV as well. He’s completely different. The manager to the person, the human being to the manager. Was completely chalk and cheese. It was brilliant. Off the pitch. He was just a real nice family man. Loves his family, loves his grandkids. Uh really nice bloke. When it came to the football arena though, he was a winner and he wanted to win badly and he reveled in disrupting everybody. He reveled in playing Arsenal away at the Emirates. Yeah. and sticking it up them basically. Do you know what I mean? How good is it though? Because you don’t get many of them anymore. You don’t get many of them. Absolutely. What was a Tony Clear team talk like? Would he say just literally first five minutes just get Oh yeah, it was all about that. It was all about that. Don’t do anything quick. He struggles in parts. He’s he’s the best part of long long. He really struggles with the short ones. Um, on that on that subject, did you ever get nervous before before playing football? When I was younger, a lot. Yeah. An awful lot. as you get older and the more you play and the more you get used to it. Never never got nervous. I got nervous probably towards the end of games if it was a tight game. If it was nil nil or we’re winning one nil or we’re clinging on for something. Yeah. And I can see say for example I see them bring a big guy on. Yeah. Yeah. And I know they’re going to be launching the ball into he’s going to try and ple you. I know that I’m going to be required to do something. So it would get in my head a little bit. I wouldn’t say it would necessarily worry me, but it was definitely something that would enter my mind. Um What about penalties? No. Never. But for a goalie, penalties aren’t any other thing. Love them. Yeah. Is that because you’re not expected to save them, but when you do, it’s total glory. Exactly. You can’t lose. There’s nothing There’s nothing you can really do wrong unless you let one go through your hands. I’d say I’d say, you know what? I think when I finished football, the most nervous I got was kind of trying to transition into this new world of podcasting and interviewing people and talking to people is I’d say this would be the most nervous thing really. when I first started when you’re trying to speak to people because I I don’t know I you might think I’m really personable and I love people but I’m actually quite introverted. I like my own like company. I like to be left alone sometimes. I like to yeah I like a bit of peace and quiet and having to be this sort of outgoing bubbly and talking to people and um you know the sort of energy it’s m it makes you nervous honestly it makes you really nervous sometimes. So you you’re driving up the motorway to go and meet some footballer or some this or whatever and you start second guessing yourself. You start thinking, "What if they don’t like me? What if it don’t go very well? What if there’s like awkward silences?" Do you know what I mean? And I think as the more that I’ve done it, I’ve just realized that everybody’s in the same boat, mate. Everybody’s in the same boat. Everybody’s a bit nervous. Everybody’s a bit anxious. And silences, mate. Awkward silences. They’re not awkward. They’re just silences. Just enjoy the silence. I love them. It’s not a problem, is it? Yeah, it’s fine. So yeah, that would that would be the only thing I’d say that probably I would sort of get more nervous and worry about rather than the football side of it. Cool. Right, let’s have a strike.
