GRANGER, Ind. (WNDU) – It was a little over eight months ago that a fire erupted in the clubhouse at family-owned Juday Creek Golf Course in Granger.

The building essentially burned to the ground.

It’s been a challenging season for the Juday Creek Golf Course to say the least.

Without a clubhouse, they’ve been forced to downsize their amentities to a temporary shed.

But very soon, they may be making a big comeback.

With golf season in full-swing Juday Creek Golf Course is determined to make a full-recovery after a fire destroyed the clubhouse in August 2024.

“We are in the process now of having our plans, they’re just about finalized to build something that is almost similar to what we’ve had before. We found that our previous clubhouse-which we loved, it actually worked very well, so we’re just making some minor tweaks,” said Linda Rogers the owner of Juday Creek golfcourse.

Those changes include more storage and a golf simulator.

In the meantime, the makeshift clubhouse is operated out of a shed that sells some snacks and basics.

“And I feel like it’s almost the same, obviously it’s smaller, it just kind of feels like we’re in a waiting period right now, but honestly, the people are what makes the place awesome,” said Anna Hubert a Juday Creek golfcourse worker.

One of the challenges they face after losing the clubhouse has been not having food service they had before which means no more homemade food.

But they’re currently working on making the food service portable!

“The clubhouse was gorgeous, I mean Linda Rogers has such a beautiful place there it was a tragedy that that thing burned down. But they’re going to rebuild and the pheonix will rise from the ashes I guess is how it goes, so it’s going to be a great replacement clubhouse when it’s built,” said Art Klinger who has been a golfer at Juday since it opened.

The next step for building the new clubhouse is to get that building permit first.

Rogers also told us that the biggest change for them when it comes to building a new clubhouse will be following the new commercial codes that have been put in place.

They will also be adding a new sprinkler system.

A lot has changed since the original build in 1988.
