LIV Golf stars Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka are tipped to be among the attendees at a special dinner for potential U.S. Ryder Cup participants, hinting at their possible inclusion in the 2025 event.

Fresh from his first win of 2025 at LIV Korea last week, DeChambeau is riding high. This marks his third victory in the Saudi-backed league since he joined in 2022. The win was a significant comeback after his disappointment at the Masters, where he started Sunday’s final round paired with Rory McIlroy but fell out of contention early on.

Both Koepka and DeChambeau will be part of the 16-strong LIV player lineup competing in next week’s PGA Championship at Quail Hollow in Charlotte. They’ve both secured exemptions due to previous major wins. It comes as DeChambeau snubbed Rory McIlroy in his prediction for the tournament.

However, both DeChambeau and Koepka make a pit stop in Philadelphia that could boost their chances of teaming up for the Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black.

As per the Golf Channel, American captain Keegan Bradley is hosting a dinner for the top 20 players in the U.S. Ryder Cup standings, as well as members of the 2023 Ryder Cup and 2024 Presidents Cup teams.

Bradley and other PGA Tour players are in Pennsylvania for the Truist Championship, which kicks off Thursday at The Philadelphia Cricket Club’s Wissahickon Course. Reports suggest that DeChambeau and Koepka will join their former tour colleagues at the dinner.

DeChambeau, the reigning U.S. Open champion, was part of the American teams in 2018 and 2021, as well as the 2015 Walker Cup and 2019 Presidents Cup. He competed in three matches at Whistling Straits in 2021, going 2-0-1 to help the U.S. win 19-9.

Koepka’s Ryder Cup resume is even longer, competing in each of the last four editions dating back to 2016. His results were a mixed bag at Marco Simone in 2023, going 1-1-1 as the Americans lost to the Europeans, 161⁄2-111⁄2.

Entering this weekend, DeChambeau appears en route to an automatic qualifying spot for the American side. He sits fourth in the U.S. standings behind World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, reigning PGA Champion and Open Champion Xander Schauffele and two-time major winner Collin Morikawa.

The top six players in the standings are guaranteed spots for Bethpage. Koepka’s path appears a bit tougher. The former world No. 1 has dropped to 91st in the Ryder Cup rankings as his struggles in major championships continue.

He missed the cut at Augusta National, posting a +5 through two rounds, and has not finished in the top 10 at a major since his win at the 2023 PGA Championship. But Koepka does have one thing in his favor – the golf course.

Koepka, along with Patrick Reed, is one of the only two players in contention to have a victory at Bethpage Black, where he clinched the 2019 PGA Championship during his streak of four majors in three seasons.

He was dominant that week on Long Island, taking the lead on Thursday and never relinquishing it, finishing with a two-shot victory over Dustin Johnson despite a challenging Sunday.

The course also seems to favor DeChambeau, a power player anticipated to excel on longer courses, although he missed the cut at Bethpage in 2019.
