So, could the Dallas Mavericks be trading away Klay Thompson to the Portland Trailblazers this 2025 NBA off season? Well, here on the screen is a trade proposal or a trade idea from fadeawayorld.net. But yeah, this trade would see the Dallas Mavericks receiving Anthony Fernie Simons and the Portland Trailblazers receiving Klay Thompson, Naji Marshall, and a 2026 first round pick swap. Now, in my personal opinion, this would be a pretty big-time trade uh for the Mavericks to make if they’re able to get a little bit younger and go after a player that would be actually a pretty good fit uh with this Mavericks team. That of course being Anthony Simons. I think when healthy if you have a big three of Anthony Davis um you know Kyrie Irving as well as Anthony Simons is more of a number three that’s pretty good for the foreseeable future. Uh Portland Trailblazers in this case would be selling in my personal opinion pretty low. Now I guess you can take the chance that uh injuries will be a concern next year and maybe the Mavericks are once again a team outside of the playoffs. So that 2026 first round pick swap I guess in theory could be um a lottery pick. But Klay Thompson is not the player that he once was. He could still be a solid player, but if he goes to Portland, it doesn’t move the needle in my opinion. Naji Marshall is a good player to have, but uh you know, I would rather have Anthony Simons when it’s all said and done as a player that makes my team better.
