The full 81-team field for the men’s college golf championship was unveiled with Wednesday’s annual selection show.
Eighty-one teams comprise six regionals, with 13 teams in three of the regionals and 14 teams in the other three competitions. The same regionals include 10 or five individual golfers, respectively, whose teams didn’t qualify for the tournament.
Auburn (Auburn Regional) was the No. 1 overall seed of the men’s college golf championship, ahead of other No. 1 seeds Ole Miss (Tallahassee Regional), Oklahoma State (Urbana Regional), LSU (Amherst Regional). Arizona State (Bremerton Regional) and Texas (Reno Regional).
Thirty teams and six individuals not on those teams will reach the championship round, which will be held from May 23-28 at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California, the same location for the women’s college golf championship.
SEC teams have claimed the last three national championships, with Auburn, Florida and Texas being the three most-recent winners. Oklahoma also finished as runner-up to Pepperdine in 2021.
