Kai Trump was a surprise guest at Saturday’s UFC 314 event but seemed to enjoy the action as she took cageside seats along with her grandfather, President Donald Trump.

The aspiring golfer, who continues to grow in popularity on social media and endear herself to her fans with her down-to-earth approach to life, took to Instagram following the event with a series of photos as she celebrated her unusual evening out. Nonetheless, the teenager embraced the occasion, which began when she walked out with her grandfather and UFC chief Dana White to raptuous applause from the Kaseya Center crowd.

Taking place at the 19,600-capacity venue in Miami, Florida, the event featured one of the richest fight cards so far this year. In the main event, former UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski regained his title by defeating contender Diego Lopes by unanimous decision in a hotly-contested five-round battle.

Before them, however, Englishman Paddy Pimblett secured a round three TKO over Michael Chandler, while Yair Rodriguez overcame MMA great Patricio Pitbull and Jean Silva secured a submission victory over Bryce Mitchell. In the main card’s opening fight, Dominic Reyes achieved a brutal first round knockout over Nikita Krylov.

Watching on from just a few yards away was the U.S. President and his 17-year-old granddaughter, who looks like she could now be a firm UFC fan after describing the night as “a blast” in a following Instagram post, suggesting she is likely to be seen accompanying the 78-year-old at future events.

“UFC 314 was a blast!” Trump wrote on Instagram, accompanied by no less than nine posts documenting her night. Perhaps the highlight of those was her selfie with former NBA star Shaquille O’Neal, although a snap of her chatting cageside with her grandfather and White was equally impressive.

Other pictures showed the University of Miami commit looking up at the jumbotron, making her grand entrance alongside the president and White, providing a view of the action from her seat as well as from the higher seats, posing for a picture with friends and family and even being snapped alongside the Cavinder twins.

After the fight, Trump introduced his granddaughter to a group of reporters as “the fake news” aboard Air Force One on the way back to Palm Beach, Florida, and invited them to ask her questions, where the teenager described the night as “awesome” and that she “really enjoyed” her second UFC fight.

When asked what it was like to hear all the cheers from the crowd as she walked out into the arena with her grandfather, Trump said it was “really cool”, to which Trump interjected with: “It’s a great honor to have that kind of ovation, because it says we’re doing a good job. If we weren’t doing a good job we’d get the opposite.”
