Donald Trump said it “might be a long time” before his granddaughter, Kai, has any chance of beating him on the golf course in his latest stunt boasting about his talent on the greens.

The U.S. President is a keen golfer and has no issue letting it be known just how good he seems to think he is on the course, frequently boasting about his latest achievements and which tournaments he’s won whenever asked about the subject. Just last week, he claimed that his alleged “golfing victories” are proof of his fitness to hold office.

However, the 78-year-old has developed a reputation for being a “Commander in Cheat” as a result of his outrageous antics on the golf course, while there has been recent backlash over his tendency to balance his playing time with his presidential duties – a shocking 25 percent of his second presidency has reportedly been spent on the greens.

Now, Trump has raised eyebrows once more by taking a swipe at his teenage granddaughter’s golfing skills in a new video posted to her popular YouTube account on Monday recapping her trip to UFC 314. While he complimented Kai for her growing improvements, Trump also made sure to reiterate just how good he thinks he is.

“I just wanna say that I play a lot of golf with Kai and she’s a fantastic golfer,” Trump began in the video. “She’s a scratch player, which is amazing. I think some day in the not-too-distant future she’s gonna be much better than scratch.”

He continued: “But she’s doing really well and she wins a lot of matches. And some day she’ll be able to beat her grandfather, but I’m not sure when that’ll be… it might be a long time.” Kai then challenged the president to a 1v1 match, to which he simply chuckled at before the video cut.

Trump announced last month that he had won another championship at his club in Florida, although it once again brought about doubts over the legitimacy of his golf game. Sports writer and author Rick Reilly sarcastically wrote in response to his post on Truth Social: “Congrats to you, the caddies who kick your ball out of the rough.”

As for the president’s granddaughter, Kai, she has developed a much more positive reputation with her performances on the greens. Her talents have led to her committing to the University of Miami to play collegiate golf when she leaves high school, while her talents were on full show in a recent video that captured her almost scoring the perfect hole-in-one during a round of golf.

Of course, though, Trump claims that the 17-year-old gets her golf skills from him. In an exchange caught on camera during a round in December, the 47th U.S. President said: “That’s where Kai gets it [from],” after finding the center of the fairway with a sweetly-struck drive.
