Changing this spider insert for @ourworldofgolf
.
It always amazes me how soft these spider inserts are
.
You can see how much this pretty new spider tour putter has worn down in a fairly short space of time
.
When removing these spider inserts you can tell just how soft they are by the way it comes out of the face. The material loses it shape and bends a lot which makes it very difficult to keep these ones and re use again. Especially comparing to an odyssey insert they seem to come out intact most of the time.
.
I have a custom one that was made by @plastiprintworks where you can get your own from, check back to see the finished product

  1. The inserts I get are made by ‘plastiprintworks’ on instagram. He has only recently started making them so isn’t fully set up with a website yet but can take orders through eBay and Etsy for non UK orders

  2. Good work Luke.
You'll always get the 'fanboy' haters when you touch/alter something TM, Titleist, Cameron etc. That insert looked 'well used' to me though and to keep a beloved putter in play, even if you have to get used to a new feel would, I think, be worth it to me…of course other opinions may differ and that's ok too 👍

  3. This is cool for customization, but forgive me if I’m going to let the putter made by a company who spends their whole day making putters better as is. Plus I’m sure I paid hundreds of dollars USD and I’m not about to put it in a pot of boiling water and alter it. Just me tho.

  4. Why would I want to replace one plastic insert with another plastic insert that I don't know the feel of?
It might make sense to replace plastic with a milled steel insert for a firmer feel

  5. Old was 100% better. Dude paid somebody to provide a lower performance result from the SAME club. Some people just live to spend money I guess.. cool video, and got us talking. Nice work overall hahaha

  6. and you weakened your shaft epoxy at the same time…
going to want to redo that before it comes off on the course and ruines a good round…
