Hello from Scotland Mr Watson ,i have been a huge admirer of your wonderful achievements and accomplishments in the game of golf since my teens and I'm in my early 60' s today . I was there at Turnberry in 1977 – my first ever Open attendance – at the majestic ' Duel in the Sun ' and have been a huge fan of yours ever since . I remember recognising Mr Nicklaus' daughter Nancy following her dad at the side of the fairway and could not get my courage up to say ' hello ' and ask if she was enjoying the country and the golf ….i still rue being so shy and retiring at the age of 16 . May i wish you and your family the very best of health and success Mr Watson , best wishes from the old country .

Watson seemed to always need a miracle chip in to beat Nicklaus.
One of the greatest travesties in golf…when he couldn’t get up and down at the last and lose in a play off to Cink….if you want to look at the best swing in golf….look no further than Tom Watson……
What a remarkable memory. I caddied in that tournament for a club pro Johnny Johnson . Sadly we didn't make the cut but Johnny gave me his players card as he left after the second round. (No photo ID back in 1977) so for the last two rounds I had access all areas😂. Those last two rounds played by Tom and Jack are etched in my memory like they happened yesterday.
Tom's description of the roar when Jacks putt went in on the final hole is so accurate. I recall the whole arena seemed to levitate as the ball approached the hole. Quite the most remarkable moment. Fabulous to hear it from Tom Watson himself. What a gentleman and a credit to our game.
P.S. I was also present when he won his first Open at Carnoustie in a 18 playoff against Jack Newton

That was an EPIC day and I was a 16 year old kid. They went at it shot for shot.
Not just a great golfer but a true sportsman of unquestionable integrity and equally important a gentleman who has experienced extremely challenging personal trials probably the last of the truly great champions Tom enjoy it you were one of the best ever 👏👏✊
