My buddy tried to do a "if it's length of a putter away, it's a gimme" rule one time. His dad told him if he could make one from that distance first try then we would play that rule, we played normally lol

Casual round we just play inside the putter unless it’s for birdie or better. For money it’s at the discretion of the guy who could lose if you miss.

I play to the hole every game for my own score, but if my playing partners wanna give them self gimmes for their score then I dont care either along as they don't try claim to have beaten me at the clubhouse after cos I for sure will be bringing up the 15 holes they didn't finish properly after I missed several of the same putts myself that they just picked that made me score what I did legitimately 😂

I recall I was about a foot away and we were playing a friendly tourney (we were also drinking a ton. yeah that type of tourney). I asked everyone if it's good. One guy says to putt it. SO that sets the stage for the rest of the holes. He had about 5-6 12-18 inchers and you know what, he missed 3 of them.

Never understood playing gimmes. Maybe it’s because I played competitively for years so if you’re going to practice, you should practice how you’ll play. But still, just hit the putt if it’s that easy
