  1. They didn't HAVE to do anything. This is nothing but manufactured drama and continued anti-LIV shilling from people who support the PGA like you.

  2. I understand that Wesley has a PGA Tour card and is currently active. On the other hand, I don’t think Grant has a PGA Tour card, so he doesn’t have any connections to either the PGA or LIV Tour. This situation serves as good marketing for both parties, especially since Grant has a large following. It’s somewhat similar to Bryson DeChambeau and his YouTube channel with LIV; LIV paid Bryson a substantial amount of money—more than he would ever earn from YouTube.

  3. Are tour players not independent contractors? The problem with the PGA and many other corporations act like they OWN the people they pay, for the service they provide! That is the same thing as slavery and last time I checked that is illegal. The money they pay to the players are for the players performance, not to give them ownership of the player. Wesley could probably go to live tomorrow and make way more money.

  4. They shouldn't have done it, It's Drama, your obviously enjoying it and making videos and money of your opinion. Wes has been doing videos for year .Everybody loves youtube golf better then the PGA. Why did rory and scheffler compete with bryson and Brooks for the crypto event. Hypocrisy. Wesley did good. Short man should be in TMZ

  5. The pga tour has the the potential to be awesome if they would take some hints from YouTube and get a little more personal into what these guys are thinking and how they are playing tournaments, but they always seem to fumble it in plenty of ways..

  6. your not an independent contractor if the company dictates how and when you do your work per IRS rules. PGA Tour operates on the very fringe of the rules because US corporations fund the tour.

  7. To me that Jordan/Lebron analogy isn't an exact fit. If I've understood correctly, this wasn't a LIV promotion event, rather an event sponsored by LIV (among others I guess?). That would mean Jordan playing in a show game that had Adidas as one of the sponsors (even if it was the main sponsor). I don't think Wesley was wearing LIV gear or doing any other visible, or verbal, promotion to them.
If Rory would go to watch one of his friends play in LIV event, would he be promoting LIV? Because sure as hell there'd be a ton of footage of him there.

Quite frankly, I didn't even NOTICE that LIV was somehow connected to that event before this *hitshow started.

  8. Everywhere, “The powers that be” are all consumed with disciplinary actions if their rules aren’t followed. We’ve all learned that competition creates great drama and notoriety. PGA, how about you learn from this event and create something similar. Then it could be a segue to bring a pga/liv event together. Or you can just focus on what boring monologue Jim Nantz’s is going to say about the prestigious grounds and majestic magnolias at next year’s Masters. 🤮

  9. PGA and LIV are not merged, he was told not to do anything with LIV, but he did. No mercy as rules are rules. Of course Phil, on LIV I guess since no one has heard his name in years, would support anything against PGA.

  10. Horrible analogy, but if you want to go there, window repair man only for CBS and agreed not to repair windows anywhere else but he did, fired. He is on PGA not LIV

  11. Dumb move by the PGA…they should want the exposure Wes gives them on YT. With that said, LIV sucks and will always suck…nobody cares about it…viewership continues to decline.

  12. So did wes not know that he was violating rules? Did he not care? If he knowingly violated the rules then it is what it is

  13. Wesley participated not as a member of the PGA but as a youtube content creator. I get that the PGA should spank him a little, but not give him the dealth panalty. The PGA is sour graping. THey should embrace Wesley Bryan and give him encouragement bercause he and his channel are GROWING the game of golf. LIV gets it. The PGA should get it too. They need all the help it can get.

  14. this seems a none issue in his life. all on the circuit are onsidered IC. everyone must qualify by passing Q school even to be on any tour or event. GH isn't a pro, he's playing under amarture status. the PGA just riding on his You Tube coat tails to garnish likes for a failing ssystem fighting to stay alive against, LIV and every content creator out there.

  15. The PGA Tour said any player who competes in a LIV event would be suspended. He knew the rule, he broke it and now he has to face the consequences. Been watching the Bryan Bros since their trick shot college days at South Carolina and I've meet both of them. They're great guy's, love their YouTube stuff but don't forget without the PGA Tour all these LIV guy's are just great golfers. The PGA Tour is what gave them the stage to become known. Its all about loyalty which doesn't seem to mean much these days.

  16. Nah. The PGA can’t get out of its own way. This wasn’t even a real tournament. It’s like saying Jayson Tatum should get suspended for participating in the Olympics.

I get what you’re saying, but the PGA is failing because of stuff like this.

  17. Me myself.. i think he was trying to get off the hook from PGA, sounds dumb but if you think about it he might not be interested in so much PGA commitment anymore. I think he thought about things before attending the event, he knows how the PGA is.

  18. He's correct that the PGA Tour had to cover their a$$ or there would have been many lawsuits filed against them by the currently suspended players . But I don't completely agree that it's all Wesley's fault because it's the Tour's own rules that has them backed into this corner. They can easily change these archaic rules and have changed… a few… but not a couple of the big ones. Why haven't they learned their lesson by now? Their pompous rules are the main reason why LIV was even born. The Tour took advantage of professional golfers for many decades and are only now paying the penalty for it. Current Tour players are reaping the benefits and they should all be sending thank you cards to Greg, Phil, D.J., Jon Rahm, etc… Unfortunately, I believe the current leadership would let the Tour burn to the ground before they gave in and did whatever is necessary for there to be harmony in the world of professional golf. It's a shame because everyone knows the world is big enough to support two top tier golf tours… everyone but the PGA Tour.

  19. Correct 👍- and for those saying the PGA is an old dying business doesn’t understand how big the PGA is.

  20. All this has done its go make me watch another YT golf video and grow the guy that got suspended. I hope he is laughing his way to the bank.
