RORY McIlroy’s private jet landed back in the United States after the Northern Irishman made a quick trip home to County Down, according to reports.
The world number two was back in the country to celebrate his career Grand Slam after his Masters win at Augusta.

It was thought there may be a public event to celebrate the remarkable achievement.
But celebrations remained low key as the five-time major winner stayed out of the public domain as he visited he parents to celebrate the milestone.

Rory’s Augusta heroics saw him finally claim the coveted green jacket and a cheque for €3.7million in Georgia, USA.
But the Gulfstream G650 jet landed back in West Palm Beach overnight, according to @radaratlas2 X, who originally revealed McIlroy’s arrival into Belfast.
The news has poured cold water on hopes of a public celebration as the 36-year-old is set to head to New Orleans for the Zurich Championship.
PGA Tour brass confirmed that McIlroy and Shane Lowry would defend their Zurich Classic title at TPC Avondale – news of the duo’s decision to defend their title was confirmed on Friday.
Lowry also confirmed that they are ‘good to go’ this week as they will aim to defend their title in New Orleans.
The Ryder Cup pair won a playoff against Chad Ramey and Martin Trainer to claim the team title in 2024.

Speaking to Golfweek, the Offaly native said: “We’ll be there. I talked to him (Wednesday) morning. We’re good to go.
“To be honest, I didn’t want him to feel like he had to play because of me.
“He’s not letting me down if he wanted to take some time. He feels like he wants to get back out there.”
The Ryder Cup pals will be part of the 80 two-man teams feature in fourballs during the opening round.
All the action gets underway on Thursday.
