    Draft shemar Stewart or James pierce jr and have them learn by hutch. Bring smith back on a cheap deal, maybe future proofing our o line while we’re at it and that’s a formula to win with.

    I have to give you credit. At a time of year when there is absolutely NOTHING talk about in football you are digging deep to do just that. This is more of a history report than a football report. In reality it is an "apple and oranges" relationship. Comparing Sanders and Gibbs tells as much about the Lions team and management as it does about their individual talents. Barry Sanders had a SHIT TEAM around him. There was virtually NO support. He had to pull the entire unit 'uphill' all the way, all the time. Gibbs on the other hand, has a rock-solid management and team around him. Gibbs is outstanding in that arena but he would NOT be as effective as Sanders with the team Barry was saddled with. Nevertheless, they are comparable – bot NOT the same. See if you can't do more Lions history, comparing the overall league standards, the management styles and talent in a given era. It might give current Lions fans a grater appreciation for what we have now. ((( the Bobby Layne era, the Alex Karras era and so on.) Why did the Lions excel back then…and what from then do they have now. ))) Just a thought for you over this next week as you battle to put on entertaining and informative show prior to the draft…

    Yes. He is a total cheat code. We should be striving for a HIGH POWER, BALANCED OFFENSE at all times. There is absolutely no reason not to.
    And everyone needs to calm down about the edge. We have Hutch! Do you know how lucky we are to have ONE edge rush star? Extremely! This year's draft has a plethora of edge rushers that are all decent. Plus I like the idea of a totally drafted roster any day. The chemistry and loyalty is there and that creates its own dynamic!

    Put Billy Sims numbers up for his 1st 2 seasons I think you might be surprised, I'm curious to see how he stacks up. I would guess his might be the best of all 3. I don't know for sure. He could be the least productive but I wouldn't bet on it.

    I loved Gibbs since the draft and I watched his college highlights. It was all there to see. Having him with Monte is like the old days of Trammel and Whitaker or Datsyuk and Zetterberg. Barry is in a class all by himself and while it’s fun to compare there is a long way to go. And yet! Johnson stopped using him with DC when he was unstoppable!!!!! That won’t happen with Morton and DC.

    My unscientific comparison — back in the day, I kinda held my breath whenever Barry got the ball — I now find myself doing the same thing with Jahmyr.
