  3. I tried this before as I still do have the flip. The problem with it is that it doesn't fix the issue in the swing that is causing the flip, which most of the time is from coming over the top or too steep and you just go back to flipping.

  4. My club face is staying open at contact forcing the right turn. Looking for my club face to be flat at contact consistently.

  6. The impact position IS where the issue is — not the finish position. What your arm does after impact is irrelevant to the flight of the ball. This may be a psychological aid to the flips, but it doesn't fix the physical problem. Same thing as trying to keep from flipping wedge shots.

  7. off to find the magic wooden tool. Had lesson yesterday – was told (and he is pretty right) that i flip cause my right hand/arm is running the show.

  8. So late so stuck. Came in steep. Body was ahead of the club. It was close to shanking. Lets see the swing directly behind you and start drawing lines if you don't believe me. What is this guys handicap???

  9. Took some videos of my swing last night to try and figure out why I am not getting the distance I should be or making solid contact. It was an eye opener – looked just like the before picture. I thought I have cured the flipping but I just moved it nearer to the impact position so was making okay contact, but knew something was not right. What you're saying does not make complete sense, but pretty much all of your drills have helped me so far so going to give this one a try. Just ordered some rice spoons.

  10. Wow I’ve been trying to stop flipping for ever , 5 mins later I’ve tried this videoed myself and bingo the flip has gone , just need to actually try on the range / coarse to see if I’m dreaming or if it works 🤞🏻

  11. Stop moving so laterally also had an ah ha moment yesterday. I naturally get forward but I was thinking about getting more forward and was out racing my arms. That and feel like the lead wrist is down at the ground it won’t be but it feels like it

  12. I struggle with flipping …I don't have a rice spoon, but I do have a paint stirrer stick, so I shoved it down into my glove, but still not exactly sure of what feeling I am trying to achieve…am I trying to keep my left wrist from breaking at impact?….thanks

  13. I'll try this out. I managed to eliminate the over the top move with my driver but still have a flipping habit from when I used to compensate for it. The result is an awesomely powerful swing off the tee … that goes 40 yards left. Straighten that out and I'm golden.

  14. Thank you so much! This is exactly the video I was searching for. My swing has felt consistent and under control. But my release and follow through have been all over the place and painful too.

    I'm a right handed golfer, and I've broken my left hand/wrist a few times. That arm is really weak, and so much of my golf swing is dominated by my right arm. This drill shows me that I need to let the left hand and wrist control the pace and timing of the swing. I need to grow some strength in that arm, but that's what the rice paddle will be for!   16. How do you extend this into a full backswing? Does the spoon stay connected to your fore arm all the way to the top?

  17. I am 48 and hit the ball pretty good but I do have a slight flick with my wrists. When I try this it’s really hard to get my body to feel loose doing it.

  19. i have this problem now and its anoying af. i hit a 7 iron 176 meters almost setting of the national guards missile alarms with how high it goes. i wonder how much i can gain with fixing this.

  20. This works. I did it 20 years ago and it gets the finish AND the impact fixed. I'm flipping it now so can't wait to try again. Sure sign of a flip is if after your finish, the shaft is parallel to the spine somewhat. When I video myself from down the line and see that club finish over my shoulder and near parallel to spine, I know I've flipped. Nothing causes shanjs like flipping it, at least for me.
