PROCTOR, Minn. (Northern News Now) – Golf courses around the Northland opened up this weekend, and many golfers couldn’t wait to get out.
The Proctor Golf Course was one of the local courses to open. After opening a few weeks ago, they were forced to close after a late March snowfall, and on Saturday from 9 a.m. on, they were fully booked.
“Just got the itch, needed to play, I guess. I don’t know, it’s fun. I’ve been waiting all winter, honestly,” said Donnie Sherman. “It was only for a couple of hours, but we had to get out here. I called yesterday, and I was kind of surprised they were open, and I’m kind of glad they are.”
For many, it was great to get back outside.
“It’s my first time out this season, so I was just excited to get back out, basically,” said Kaitlan Ives. “It’s just better than sitting on the couch and watching another movie.”
Golf, as always, is weather permitting. Links to stay updated on your favorite courses’ Facebook pages can be found in the story below.
