Scottie Scheffler says it’s tough to choose his best shot at Augusta
Scheffler says he’s hit a lot of big shots at Augusta, but one perfectly struck iron in 2022 still stands out.
The Masters Tournament has arrived, and a few former Texas Longhorns are taking on the legendary course.
Texas-exes Scottie Scheffler and Jordan Spieth teed off Thursday morning, with both having won the tournament in previous years. Scheffler secured last year’s win at Augusta National with a seven-birdie performance on Sunday in the final round.
So, what are the odds Scheffler dons the green jacket for the third time in his career? It’s favorable for the former Longhorn, as BetMGM has him leading the pack with +450 odds to win, with Collin Morikawa, Jon Rahm and Bryson DeChambeau trailing him. Meanwhile, Spieth is a longshot to win the event, having not lifted a major trophy since the 2017 Open Championship.
Scheffler won three state titles in high school and attended UT in 2014. He graduated from Texas in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in finance and three Big 12 championships under his belt. Spieth spent one year with the Longhorns, leading them to the 2012 national championship.
