Bryson DeChambeau has confirmed LIV Golf no longer permits players to wear shorts during competition rounds.
The breakaway league played their fifth event of the season in Miami, Florida, over the weekend.

Marc Leishman won his first LIV Golf individual title as he beat Charl Schwartzel by one stroke.
A host of other players, including DeChambeau, were in contention at the top of the leaderboard going into Sunday as they warmed up for The Masters.
The American eventually finished fifth, and as the event unfolded, confirmed the shorts rule change that many fans had been speculating about for weeks.
“We actually changed back to pants for tournament rounds,” DeChambeau said.
“It was great (being able to wear shorts) but we want to look a little bit more professional.”
The decision to allow shorts, which was originally championed by former CEO Greg Norman back in 2022, meant LIV became the first male professional tour to allow players to wear shorts.
It was said to have been made due to the extreme heat at some of the league’s venues – including in Saudi Arabia, Mayakoba, Adelaide, Singapore and Andalucia.
But ahead of the 2025 season, it appeared the shorts rule had been quietly removed by new CEO Scott O’Neil, who took over from Norman in January 2025.
Players have been seen competing in long pants instead.
It was never confirmed by LIV, but DeChambeau has now cited ‘professionalism’ as the reason behind the change.

Some fans, however, took to social media to share their disappointment that shorts are no longer allowed, arguing that the decision is a ‘PGA move’.
“Pointless decision, very odd,” one person said.
“No good. Like the shorts,” another wrote.
“Come on, let the guys wear whatever they want, this is a PGA style move. Hate it,” a third said.
Following on from Miami, DeChambeau will now head to Augusta National for the first major of the year.
The reigning US Open champion, who secured a career-first top-10 at The Masters last year, will have dreams of claiming the iconic green jacket this time around.

“I’d say I’m in a great frame of mind. I’m happy about life,” DeChambeau, who has found his inner MrBeast to become a fan favorite, said ahead of arriving.
“Got a lot of positive things going for me.”
While he might be quietly dreaming of Masters glory, the LIV star has suggested he is simply looking forward to some ‘peaceful’ moments at Augusta amid all the madness.
DeChambeau said: “I honestly love the atmosphere. It’s one of the most peaceful places.

“My favorite moment is when the sun is kind of setting and everybody has kind of gotten off the golf course and you’re just hitting golf balls by yourself or a couple other pros… and you see the sun going down.
“That’s what I look forward to a lot coming into next week, other than playing well and giving myself a chance.
“I really enjoy those moments after the round practicing hard into the night.”
