Donald Trump Jr has reacted with succinct indifference as his ex-wife Vanessa sparked romance headlines, moving on with none other than golf legend Tiger Woods. The son of the President was blindsided by their Instagram debut, confirming their burgeoning love affair with a picture-perfect post.
Tiger and Vanessa, who both reside within minutes of each other in sunny Florida, made their relationship public knowledge with an affectionate social media post. Insiders believe the couple have been an item since the Thanksgiving celebrations last year, marking Vanessa’s first notable romance since severing ties with Donald Jr.
Vanessa’s union with Donald Jr lasted 12 years before she filed for divorce in 2018. Their family includes five children: Kai, Donald III, Tristan, Spencer, and Chloe, with their matrimonial vows exchanged at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort back in November 2005.
It was back in March 2018 when Vanessa chose to initiate the divorce proceedings in New York City, with Page Six at the time reporting a narrative of the couple leading “separate lives”. Not forgetting, it was 2004 when Donald Jr proposed to then-model and actress Vanessa with a stunning $100,000 ring sealing the deal.
As Vanessa turns a new page with Tiger Woods, Donald Jr’s response has been minimal yet approving; according to People magazine, he’s “cool” about her new-found happiness.
Post-divorce, Donald Jr didn’t waste much time himself, finding companionship with Kimberly Guilfoyle, the former Fox News anchor turned Ambassador to Greece under President Trump’s administration. Yet rumours were rife last year linking him to West Palm Beach socialite Bettina Anderson, with the pair formally stepping out as a couple in December 2024, following his father’s successful election campaign.
Tiger, 49, and Vanessa, 47, escalated their friendship to a romantic relationship and decided to step into the limelight as a couple. The well-known sportsman took to Instagram, sharing snapshots with Vanessa to his whopping 3.5 million followers.
In one heart-warming photo, Tiger and Vanessa are seen beaming, with arms wrapped around each other. Another picture captures a more serene moment, with Vanessa cosying up to the acclaimed golfer as they lounge in a hammock.
The star expressed his feelings in a poignant message: “Love is in the air and life is better with you by my side! We look forward to our journey through life together.”
In a bid for understanding, he also requested that his fans respect their privacy, adding: “At this time we would appreciate privacy for all those close to our hearts.”
Both Vanessa and Tiger have children attending The Benjamin School. This isn’t the first brush with high-profile romance for either of them.
Tiger previously tied the knot with Elin Nordegren; the marriage lasted from 2004 until 2010 and produced two children, Sam and Charlie.
However, the athlete’s private life hit headlines in November 2009 when it was claimed he had been unfaithful with Rachel Uchitel, a nightclub hostess from New York City. Tiger attempted to quash these allegations before they went mainstream, allegedly putting Elin on a call with Rachel to dispel the story – a move that ultimately failed to convince his spouse.
The revelation of Tiger’s supposed infidelity led to Elin reportedly hurling his phone at him and chasing him outdoors with a golf club. Tiger ended up crashing his car, which was later found with both rear windows shattered.
He was unconscious for six minutes, and Elin claimed she had broken the car’s windows to extract him from the vehicle. The pair declined to participate in police interviews, and within a fortnight, 14 women had stepped forward claiming they had affairs with Woods during his marriage.
