Rodgers really needed McCarthy to move on about 3 seasons earlier, or Brady to not go to Tampa. If he had gotten to a second Super Bowl, he wouldn't be such a 'cerebral' about his late career.
Now it's like watching the end of Marino or even Favre, except Rodgers still looked occasionally like he could still play football.
Tomlin’s shortcomings have us all hostages. Now national media is asking Steelers not lowering standards. MOVE ON FROM TOMLIN. That’s the piece not up to standards. He is mediocre if Steelers ownership is afraid of someone worst then WE SHOULD MOVE ON.

That joke at the end about sending him ESPN gear it's funnier than most people realize. Dan left ESPN on a very bad note and has had a major grudge ever since and cannot get over it. He still takes shots at ESPN whenever he can, even calling them the mothership and not saying ESPN is on purpose. People like Jim understands that and that's why when he mentioned that it puts a burr under Dan saddle.
I find it hysterical that everyone pretends that they know whats going on behind the scenes when they don't. No one is "lowering themselves". Negotiations are in progress. If you would have played more of what Heyward said, he admitted that he didn't know what the qb situation was.
Move on to what exactly Dan? What else should they be doing at this moment? Do they draft weeks before everyone else? What free agent out there is worth their time? Where exactly are you guys even getting info that the Steelers are somewhere on hands and knees, fasting and praying Rodgers goes to Pittsburgh? What better option at QB they should go?

The Steelers are the Dallas Cowboys of the AFC. A dynastic franchise living off their old reputation. Pittsburg hasn't won a playoff game in 9 years. They haven't played in a Super Bowl in 15 years. Stop acting like they are still a storied franchise that is above begging for anything. Pride in a sack is worth the sack. I wouldn't bring in Rodgers either, but I'm sick of talking heads pretending like the Steelers still matter, They Don't! Just rip the band-aid off, fire Tomlin, draft a young QB, go thru a tough losing year or two, and then become a Real NFL franchise again. If 9 or 10 wins every year, followed by one and done in the playoffs is the Standard? Then the Standard sucks…
I have been a Steelers fan for over 50 years and it is hard to believe that it has gotten to this point. Our biggest accomplishment over the last 8 years should not be that we haven’t had a losing season. And winning a first round playoff game should not be a major goal. It seems that they are settling into a routine of being an average team, and that should never be acceptable to the Steelers. I am well aware that it could be worse but if they don’t change their approach it just might get worse.
