Standing at 6-foot-8, Christo Lamprecht is one of the longest hitters in professional golf. In this Film Study, Luke Kerr-Dineen explains how how the South African’s unique action produces so much power and how a recent equipment rule change impacted how Lamprecht swings the club.

its stupid they dont let him fit the shaft for his height
Reminds me a lot of Moe Norman, the greatest ball striker ever
That shaft looks so short for him 😢
he should use a 1ft long tee…
Such a jarring voice. JAR
Jarring face too. Double jar
Height might be a factor, but you still have to have your swing mechanics dialed in. I have a friend who is 6’11” and he can only hit his driver about 225 carry. And that’s swinging as hard as he can.
He’s a very tall Lee Trevino…
Should of played tennis
He never had a coach…yeah okay
Yeah if his shaft was 6 inch longer wouldn’t have that chilly leg dip
Excuses.
We're learning that whatever analytics are in place, they're clearly wrong and out of touch with the current pulse of todays young-golfer. Good luck explaining this one, lol…
I saw Michael Jordan has a similar swing move but clearly not as much of a dip. MJ is tall also.
A load of sh*t. He never had a coach but He went to Georgia Tech lol? Also, his clubs are bent super upright. A bunch of players don't hit up on the ball. He's just loading into his legs and dipping more than normal because he's a giraffe
To make the golf game fair, they should let taller players swing shorter clubs and let short people swing longer clubs
He will have a serious back injure in the future, players should play what is comfortable for them .I'm glad that I play for fun and not for money…
He must not be able to hit a wedge since he's so tall, poor guy.
Too bad golf isn’t just about distance.
You cant play golf like that, he’s losing his levels and his head moves too much…
-every armchair specialist whos played golf for 20 years and cant break 85 or whatever
Summary: He’s tall so he bends his knees more than average.
rip patella tendon
I hate your voice
Own you swing.
He definitely has some Byron Nelson and Lee Trevino in his swing. Two of the absolute greatest strikers ever.
Hope that left knee doesn't get injured
9 minute video to say a 6’8” guy squats to hit the ball… congrats on the content
The problem with golf is , everyone has their own swing. 99% of golf teachers lack this knowledge. A great teacher adapts the swing to the golfer.
Long story short; he hits the ball farther because he's taller.
Its completely ridiculous that he can't use the appropriate length clubs
What’s going he’s 6’8 thats whats going on!
I instantly picked up on his Moe Norman similarities and him setting up on (or near) a single plane.
He looks a lot like Mo Norman
Much more consistent swing style he has😊way to go!
This could've been a 2 min video
Golf distance is all about angles and momentumarm
He looks very much like Moe Norman.
I'm 6'10" and an athletic 270. 44 years old and golfed since I was 12. I shoot par and under every so often. Thank God for club fitting options over this past decade and jumbomax grips. The 90s were a struggle when I was playing in high school. My clubs are 1.5 long and 3 upright except the driver due to this restriction in length. I don't sink down like this, I just accepted that I'm not going to get a ton of shaft lean and rotation. I've tried coaches and GOLFTEC. A random coach just can't relate or wrap their heads around the needs of people my height.
The future of golf?? Yes golf will be the new NBA ffs
Hips stay square through impact, i do the same thing
Very cool video. I must correct you. Say farther not further when referring to distance
South African player 🔥🔥🔥
Hitting a 330 average with both knees bent at impact. He's not even pushing off the ground before impact like Bryson or Rory. Such a unique swing!
