Is this right? Situation 1: Gnarly lie in rough, look for sprinkler heads no nearer the hole, take advantage of the rules and end up in the fairway. OK. Situation 2: Gnarly lie in a puddle of water in the BUNKER. Must take drop in a dry area IN THE BUNKER. Can't drop in the fairway or just outside the bunker. If the above is true, then perhaps they should revisit the rules.
I think we can all agree , it's time for the USGA to take a serious look at the rules book ! I also feel like , if a guy hits the fairway , he shouldn't be punished if it lands in a divot ? 🤷
The rules are often very much against the player and very strict, so it's nice to be able to use them to your advantage and everyone can do it, so all is fair. Seems like an awful lot of people that do not play golf are getting wound up.
