I have heard "variation" of technique teaches. And feel vs real implies that we can be tricked by what we are feeling. For anyone with the facts of this lesson, would it have been helpful to teach her to turn her shoulders even further right, see a stronger draw, and have that exaggeration teach her. This might enable her to experiment with shoulder alignment at home, going from one extreme to another, developing control of that element, and then settling in on the correct position and correct feel?

She just corrected 2 faults in the one change – she is talented. Squaring the shoulders did all what was said, plus it stopped her downswing starting with the shoulders too much and thus pushing the arms and therefore club outside the line on the way down to the ball.
