An elderly man has died after being pulled unconscious from waters near the 18th hole of a South West golf course.

Police were called to a lake on Caves Road in Dunsborough about 2pm following reports an “unresponsive male had been recovered from the water”.

It is understood the man, aged 84, was pulled from a lake at the Dunsborough Lakes Golf Course.

Police officers conducted CPR on the man until paramedics from St John WA arrived.

He could not be saved and died at the scene, police said.

A photo of the emergency response shows three ambulances on the fairway.

His death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
