As sports tourism continues to show signs of healthy growth, more NTOs are exploring potential opportunities to stake their claim in an increasingly competitive global space. In light of this, the Department of Tourism (DOT) is reinforcing its efforts to position the Philippines as a leading destination for golf tourism via the upcoming Philippine Golf Convention (GOLFCON) 2025.

The event, set to take place from 8 to 9 March 2025, at the Marriott Manila Hotel in Pasay City, will serve as a platform for the golf tourism sector to explore new opportunities, strengthen partnerships and showcase innovations aimed at advancing the industry.

In a statement, the DOT emphasised that GOLFCON 2025 will bring together key stakeholders from the golf tourism industry, including industry leaders, tour operators, golf brands and other influential figures. The convention’s primary objective is to promote collaboration, discuss potential investment opportunities and highlight advancements within the golf tourism sector.

A notable feature of the event will be the introduction of the latest golf club models from both international and local brands. These showcases will provide golf professionals and enthusiasts exclusive access to the latest developments in golf technology and equipment, while also helping to generate investment, foster industry collaborations and explore avenues for future growth in the golf tourism sector.

On top of this, the convention will feature expert-led panel discussions, strategic networking sessions and an exhibition area where key stakeholders can present new products and services.

GOLFCON 2025, organised by South Pacific Events & Marketing Co., is anticipated to be a key event in the Philippines’ push to become a premier global destination for golf tourism. The convention is expected to underscore the country’s world-class golf courses, scenic landscapes and diverse tourism offerings, positioning the Philippines as an attractive destination for both local and international golf enthusiasts alike.
