  1. On another point, when will the NRL get rid of that stupid rule of the defending team getting a 7 tackle set after the attacking team knocking the ball on in goal attempting to score a try.
    Bloody ridiculous IMO.

  2. Great espisode though, I realise it's a trial, by AJ Brimson was MVP for the Titans last night. Hard to discount that performance when considering him v foran. Also, as a Raiders fan, you might be right on the spoon.

  3. OHHHH jimmy thank you i love you so much
2 weeks without out that grub Brandon smith ! Charlie is beyond the most perfect fit there’s no ego with him he fits it so perfect 👌 great job James we can finally watch the podcast great business choice I’ll definitely be sharing this around to multiple people who have been patiently waiting for Brandon smith to piss off !!!

  4. full of praise for the dragons blood nut. then you say they will finish 14th? they will make the 8 and rooost and souths miss out 😮

  5. Knights – " they're a club you're always hearing negative stories about" – you just described FOX Corp 101. Never let the truth get in the way of a good story. You blokes just repeat their crap. I'd be VERY surprised if you 2 watched any Knights games.

  6. I think if the Cowboys pick up 1 or 2 more injuries, they could finish minor premiers. Especially with Feldt leaving, plus Townsend, Granville & Val Holmes. If they don’t get their defence in order after the first 10 rounds a really do think Todd Payten could be on the way towards coach of the year in 2025…….. AND huge early whispers up in North Queensland that Jason Taumalolo will be leaving the club March 31st and then rejoining the club on April 1st just to give a big old APRIL FOOLS to the Sydney media.

  7. The trials have been kinda funny, the teams are all over the place but what im certain of is eels vs bunnies spoon bowl

  8. 1. Storm
    2. Panthers
    3. Sharks
    4. Broncos
    5. Cowboys
    6. Eels
    7. Knights
    8. Titans

    9. Dragons
    10. Sea Eagles
    11. Dolphins
    12. Bulldogs
    13. Roosters
    14. Rabbitohs
    15. Warriors
    16. Tigers
    17. Raiders

  9. Jimmy showing his bias in regards to what the Bulldogs did in 2024. It wasn't remarkable, nor is it rare to see a team go from 6 or 7 wins, to 13 or 14. The Warriors and Knights did it in 2023, and the Cowboys did it in 2022, and the Sea Eagles did it in 2021.

In fact I'd say the Bulldogs is the least impressive out of all them, since the other teams actually made it past the first week of finals.

  10. Fuck this was painful to listen to especially the other guy who looks like he’s never played a game In he’s life.

  11. Unless Wayne Bennett has brought some stone cold genius assistant coaches with him, Souths are doomed to mediocrity for another season. You can't build a team around a top-paid, poster boy player like Latrell Mitchell – who is injured all the time, always unfit, a dirty tricks merchant, and not a team leader. He sucks up their payroll, their publicity, and their team chemistry and doesn't provide value in return.

  12. With a pack of Tapine, Papali', Horsburgh, Hudson Young, Mooney, Hosking, Mariota and England international forwards Nicholson and Smithies, theres more chance of me sprouting a boneless parastic twin from my solar plexus than Raisers getting the wooden spoon.

  13. Top 8 sides all have a strong defensive system. Tigers dont have that. Benji really needs to employ a defensive coach from Cronulla, Melbourne, Penrith, Canterbury.

  14. I'm putting $5 for the Roosters to get the spoon. 20-1 I like them odds. Seeing their 'on paper' good team get annihilated by the Knights was very entertaining.

  15. Can't agree with the idea that but for injuries the Roosters would have beaten Storm and given the Panthers a better game in the final. As James Graham says the next sentence their record against those teams is appalling even with no injuries.

Their defence just hasn't been good enough for the past few seasons and they've been belted a few times. I always thought playing Keary and Walker against the top teams sacrifices too much in terms of stopping the opposition. It might actually be good for them that both are out for a while so they can refocus on correcting that aspect of the team.

  16. I don't know why everyone always raps wayne Bennett. He is one of the greatest coaches ever but he has done nothing as a coach for over a decade. The last time his coached team actually did anything was at the dragons and they had 8 or so origin players in the team. People need to move on from Bennett his old style of coaching is dead with the modern game. He's got nothing on Bellamy or Ivan Cleary.

  17. You guys are off your head, I swear 😅. Look at the doggies, they have 1 star player but still 1 decent year and you think there winning the comp, the bias is unbelievable in this podcast

  18. lol 14th Dragons – ok Jimmy. Rava scored more tries in 23 on the right than Lomax did in 24'. They were so rightside dom that Jimmy could have bagged 20 out there. The narrative re Hunt and Lomax is prime League stupidity – both overrated w huge ego's. They'll be way better in 25, more even on both sides of the ruck.

  19. The difference between Tigers 2025 and Bulldogs 2024 – putting coaches to one side – is the intelligence and wisdom of Gus Gould. The weight a more successful and more experienced coach and person as Gus, as well as being your General Manager brings, is immeasurable. To see a young Sam Hughes (prop) walk to Gus after an immature overreaction on Sam's part after an error close to the tryline – and NEVER see that again – speaks volumes. And I wish the Tigers and Luai incredibly well.

  20. The Raiders have been pretty much universally tipped for the spoon by rugby league media 'experts' and 'pundits' for the past 3 seasons and the lowest they've finished on the ladder in those 3 years is 9th.
Charlie referenced their for and against as the reason they'll finish last. I'd suggest their poor +/- despite winning enough games is an indication of 3 things:
    – their very strong pack, and
    – their ability to grind out wins, but also
    – their lack of strike power leading to less points.
I think, with another year under their belt, their young backline will improve point 3.
Raiders to surprise all the experts again in 2025.

  21. Biggest Signings of 2025
    1.Jerome Luai joins the Tigers
    2.Ben Hunt returns to Brisbane
    3. Winston Neville debuts on the Bye Round

  22. Agree with Jimmy 100% on the RTS and CNK talk.
RTS Has to play fullback, CNK too one dimensional on Attack, awesome work rate but not creating tries or breaking lines like other top tier fullbacks

  23. Last year it was the raiders losing their best player in wighton and the experience of their captain Crocker, this year it’s smell and rapana. Rinse and repeat, year in year out they’re tipped for the spoon but it hasn’t happened since 1982 and it won’t be happening this year.

  24. The same reasons you thought warriors will miss the eight last year makes sense for the bulldogs this year?

  25. Can u get rid of Charlie? Who the hell is this scrawny dude and why is he talking rugby? He never had any idea about anything

  26. It's funny how you say tiger's are going to be second last and Gus rates the tigers in the top 8. I'll take Goulds tips

  27. Warriors at 15. The disrespect man. They could scratch into around the 8 with enough consistent footy. And everyone stays fit. I think dragons also was a bit low, they have some amazing signings this year. They too i think into the 8
