The direction, depth and width of your divots can tell you a lot about how you are hitting your irons and faults in your swing. In the first Paddy’s Golf Tips video of a new series about how you can teach yourself, I explain how you can learn from your divots and use the feedback to strike your irons with more power and consistency.

Incredible. So much information. Thank you. There's a pint of Guinness waiting for you. Cheers! 🍻
Paddy is the best advice giver on YouTube.
As always. Thank you Padriag. A suggestion I think would benefit amateurs would be to film your own swing, no sound and you show us in slow motion explaining each element of swing, takeaway, backswing, strike, finish. If popular then do for wedges, irons/ driver. Enjoyed being at open Royal Liverpool. I was guy who yelled out Jerry at European club said hi. 😎Keep up these tips you are very well thought of by us amateurs.
When you write your book please! Please put this in there,
Thanks for the informative video!
Can you please do a video on how the weight shifting and timing of the golf swing works ? Would be great to hear how we can get good rhythm in our swing!
Divots are like nuns. They will always tell you what a crooked little out to in power thief you are. Every time!
Speaking of not getting off the right side I recently used one of those ground force pressure plates and it showed that at impact I was 55% left foot and 45% right foot. Going to use one of those foot wedge training devices to see if I can beat this neuropathy and get to at least a 65% left and 35% right at impact. Really like Paddys vids, he has (at least to me) a great ability to explain the golf swing movements. Especially when he gets into moments where he says if you do this then that will happen and if you do that then this will happen…..so dont do that, do this instead. 🙂
If your swing is on plain but the ball is going more right, wouldn’t moving the ball up a little more towards your lead foot in stance straighten your ball flight out?
Well that blew my mind, especially the bigger divot with the long irons, I've always tried to brush the grass or sweep the ball with long irons.
I think you being the master of the short game, maybe a video on that, or on how to forget about score when playing, brought up in the 70s 80s and religiously knew everyone's score, was 0.7 h/c 20 odd year's ago but now 5.7
