  1. The conference championship games are the games that took a hit with the 12 team playoff. The regular season matters because you still have to win your games. The committee has already said the conference championship games don’t matter and won’t be a factor. And that’s fine as long as these conference championship games have the viewership numbers that bring the type of money that they are getting now.

  2. There is no way the rivalry games mean as much. Whoever lost the MI /OSU game in the past – their season was over. All their goals went down the drain.Imagine both teams being undefeated resting players for the playoffs. It’s coming.

  3. The 12 team playoff didn't hurt college football one bit, it just exposed the 4 team playoff and BCS National Championship by showing us what a true playoff championship looked like, and exposed the SEC.

  4. its impossible for it to not harm the regular season, slowly cfb is just turning into other sports instead of being its own unique and wonderful thing

  5. Missed the live stream today. But eliminate conference championships, take the top 16 based on the BCS formula, 1-8 host, and then tie-in the bowls after. Highest seed picks the bowl. Super simple.

  6. Answering the title question as a fan of the sport, my answer is a resounding NO. The playoff was fun and exciting. And clearly necessary based on the winner, Ohio State would have been left out completely. The 12 team playoff allows for the 1-2 regular season whoopsies… we were hungover today type of games… lets lock in now and make a playoff run. It helps negate the stupid ass biased pre season rankings that seem to prop teams up for at least 8-10 weeks. And no the existence of blowouts in the first couple of rounds or even the Final doesn’t negate the 12 team playoff either because those teams all earned their spot too. Blowouts have always existed in the CFP and have existed before. Thats just the nature of football in general… and will continue to be that way unless we get some NFL script writers in there to ruin it. The 12 team playoff was super exciting and fun to experience. Glad my team (Tennessee) made it for the first time even though it sucked to get matched up with the eventual national champion. It was really cool getting to drive up to Columbus and experiencing a truly unique and unprecedented game environment

  7. Jeff Daniels as Hugh Freeze, Sean Astin as Mark Stoops, Timothy Olyphant as Shane Beamer, Walton Goggins as Brent Venerables, Michael Chiklis as Mike Elko, Ryan Gosling as Billy Napier, Neal McDonough as Kalen Deboer, Kevin James as Brian Kelly. I would say to 4 time Iron Bowl losing Alabama coach "looks like you landed on your feet, gimme a diablo sandwich, dr. Pepper, make it fast, I'm in a GD hurry"

  8. Expansion did water down college football because the regular season has less meaning. To many games makes for a water down college football

  9. The actual problem is in this new format there are too many teams supposedly eligible. In this new era 133 teams is just too many. You need to narrow the field for the entire sport to concentrate their efforts on.
