There are so many “ Secret Moves” on YouTube that I have given up😄

Good video, but it would help to show where on your torso you aim to connect your trail elbow. You could use a red sticker on your shirt to show it, such as the side of the top rib, or in front of the ribs. It's hard to tell. Also, do you feel like you are pointing the pointy part of the bottom of the elbow at the target? Any little tricks like that would help. Thank you for all the great videos.

  5. @stevelang3109 7 months ago

Byron Nelson used to advise to put your right elbow into your right front pant pocket… :<))

  6. @nicholas1460 7 months ago

Very nice. Quick question, how does shallowing the club work together with the magic move? Are they one and the same? I don't think they are separate, but I don't think that I can think of them as separate when I'm trying to hit the ball.

  8. @jbv2081 7 months ago

Love this move. As you lower the trail arm towards the rib cage, what is your trail wrist doing? Are you actively extending the trail wrist to prevent the clubface from opening so it will be square at impact?

  9. @rickmiller8893 7 months ago

Ohhh..good catch on external connection not lowering. That can narrow it too… So you answered my question. But here's the one I went to bed and woke up with so I have to ask… The video where you say by left arm parallel the weight needs to already be forward and the percentage should stay tight throughout the rest of the swing.. My question is how can you…OR.. Does the weight percentage not ACTUALLY change much… With all the pressure when pushing up with the left leg? Is it the mass doesn't change but you can increase the pressure all day kinda thing?

You can tell when someone is doing this right because the shaft comes back down below the trail shoulder from the behind view, anyway thanks guy's great stuff as always 🍻👍👌

    I love you guys.

I’ve been working on my right arm for weeks. I have a very slight flip at impact and have been trying to diagnose it. On a DTL view, I noticed my elbow is pointed a little back where most pros are vertical at P6. I’m physically able to externally rotate, but don’t feel that at all in my swing. Can you explain the importance of externally rotating the trail shoulder in a future video?

  18. @aaronmacdonald1506 7 months ago

Can you please clarify something for me? Is the lowering of the humerus happening via shoulder extension or adduction? Sagittal plane or frontal? Or a combination of both? Thanks!

  19. @djdibibar516 7 months ago

Excellent as usual! And the graphics highlights to emphasize areas of the body are very, very helpful! Thanks!

  20. @migelikali7265 7 months ago

I would really like to see this move in Gears as it relates to the Driver.
I'm not yet convinced that the trail elbow lowers as much or as soon with the driver swing.
I've experimented with this with the driver and I've come to the conclusion that the "feel" (feel v real) of extending my trail arm as as soon as possible gives me longer and more consistent drives.
Am I misinterpreting my own diagnosis ?
can we see this move in Gears for more in-depth detail ?
I love you guy' instructional videos, I've been watching you for several years and your video's help me improve and help others trying to improve their game as well.

I have subbed BTW – a long time (years) ago.

  21. @Whoelse455 7 months ago

Lowering the right arm while maintaining the wrist angles in transition? At would point during downswing would you unhinge the wrists?

I know everyone's biology is different, but would you say on avg one could accomplish this move by squeezing the lat muscle at the top of the swing?

  24. @tonymaher4624 7 months ago

When the elbow reconnects and the end of shaft is pointing closer to the line of feet (steep) is that the pull down move?

  25. @JeremiahAlphonsus 7 months ago

Why not minimize variables and basically keep the right elbow glued to the right side, like the true GOAT Ben Hogan?

  26. @jackmitchell268 7 months ago

I know it takes time for the body to get used to this motion if u haven’t done it ur whole life but how can you get this motion to feel more powerful it just feels like there’s not enough there with arms dropping and reconnecting and the body pivoting like the slow motion blender drill if that makes sense

  27. @cubfan69kmz85 7 months ago

I’ve been following you guys for a while so I certainly know most of your theories on the golf swing. Of course being able to implement that out in the wild is another story. This should be a relatively easy move, but I often struggle to get those hands in front of the thigh. To clarify one thing for myself, in the yo yo move as your letting the elbow straighten the crook of the arm faces the dtl camera, correct?

Anyways you guys are rock stars. I would love to hear the story how you guys got together and started AMG. Ruth/ Gehrig, Jordan/Pippen, Brady/Gronkowski etc. and now Weber/ Granato. One more thing, you guys mentioned that golf app your involved in. It sounds ground breaking and the fact you said if you like to practice this app will be very helpful. Can’t wait for that. 🤘 ✌️

  30. @dukecienda2654 7 months ago

I'm intrigued by your observation in GEARS that the right elbow is never in front of the right hip. The stack and tilt instructors love the bowler drill in which the right hip is kept back and the arms swing in front of the pelvis. This seems to be at odds with what you guys see on GEARs. Do you prescribe the bowler drill to students or do you find it disrupts the correct sequence. Thanks.

Gentleman you guys have put out some great instructional videos lately. Can you do some more videos with drills for the orders seniors. I have been trying to work with him and the drills you have online. Old dog new tricks and correcting old bad habits seems to lock him up. Any suggestions on how to better break it down so he does not have 300 thoughts running through his head at address?

  32. @godsdozer 7 months ago

They use to call this drill back in the 70's and 80's……………"Ring the Bell" (church bell) with your right elbow/arm.

Why do practice swings feel so much better than real swings

  34. @xerodeus2337 7 months ago

is this magic move the same for driver, woods, and irons?

  35. @Somersetinla 7 months ago

Great video guys! I have seen a lot of "tips" and videos saying you need to get the trail elbow in front of the trail hip on the downswing but mine seems to want to connect more on my right side, like I think you are demonstrating. Thanks for clearing that up. I think you also asked for comments about other issues we might be confused with. I recently watched a Pete Cowen golf instruction video where he demonstrates "opposing wrist forces" in the correct grip. Pete says the wrists need to work against each other, much like wringing out a towel. He says top players do this to keep a stable club face. I've tried it, but it really messes with my head 🙂 I wonder if this it something that you have come across and analysed.?

  36. @Eli_XB 7 months ago

Thanks for all the work you guys do, appreciate the detail/evidence base you always go into! I've been working on this concept through the lag and lean series you put out. I've had a lot of trouble with the reconnecting early. It almost feels like my body is shifting or turning away from my trail arm as it lowers to reconnect to the body? Any tips for this? I've been experimenting with trying to really keep my body closed for the first part of the downswing (even feeling like my arms lower as the starting move in the downswing) with some mild success although still not really able to hit that P6 position.

Otherwise, I had a suggestion for a video that I haven't really seen covered on youtube, although maybe it's just a unique issue for me. In my follow through, my club head never really slings past the line my arms make on face on view (e.g., the L to L look) and at P8, my torso is rotated past the target line. I wonder if I'm not releasing the club properly so it never 'overtakes my arms', or if my arms and upper body are supposed to slow down in the follow-through to allow the club head to fling past. Thanks again!

Its a downswing. Not an out to the ball swing. Hand path is straight down arpund your rotation but its tight to the body.
