A brief video showing the steps I used to make a yardage book based on the Kindle book by Eric Jones and Dick Barry. When you buy their book, you can download templates to make your own yardage book of any golf course in the world. Basically, you use Google Earth to capture images of the golf course and measure yardages from key landmarks. I use my yardage books to visualize the course beforehand, formulate a strategy, think about which clubs to use, etc. On the course, I check the yardages, record notes, and write down how I did with different clubs. Here, I have made a Yardage Book for the Jubilee Course at St. Andrews just for fun. Here’s a link to their book:
It’s easy to download the templates from their Kindle book, but it takes several steps: (1) Download the Kindle book (2) Go to the “Templates” page. (On my iPhone Kindle, it was page 683.) (3) Click on the link for the template you want (PowerPoint or Word) (4) The link should take you to the EricJonesGolf page. Enter your name and email address where it says, “Download Templates for How to Make a Yardage Book.” Be sure to press the “Send Me the Templates” button to send your information. (5) Check your email for the Confirmation email from Eric Jones. (You should probably do this from a computer, not a smart phone, so that you can download and save the templates on your computer.) This email contains a link to aweber.com. Click on this link. (6) Now, the download page will open, and you can download (save) the templates on your computer. (7) If you don’t see the Confirmation email from Eric Jones within 25 minutes, check the spam folder or bulk mail folder of your email account.
ジョーンズ氏とベリー氏のキンドルeBook「How to Make a Yardage Book」を使って自分でヤーデージブックを作ってみました。このビデオ(英語版のみ)では、セントアンドリュース・リンクス、ジュビリーコースのヤーデージブックの制作行程をお見せします。時間かかりましたが、スコットランドに行ってきた気分です。当該eBookは英語版ですので、パソコンに強い方、既にヤーデージブックのメリットや作成方法を理解されている方、「パワーポイントもしくはワードの様式(テンプレート)さえあれば自分で作ってみたい」と思っている方にお勧めです。下記リンクでamazonからキンドルeBook「How to Make a Yardage Book」を購入して、そのeBookの「Templates」ページでPowerPointまたはWordのテンプレートリンクをクリックしてEricJonesGolfのウェブページに移動して、「Download Templates for How to Make a Yardage Book」の欄にご氏名（名・氏の順、ローマ字、名・氏の頭文字のみ大文字）とメールアドレスを入力して「Send Me the Templates」ボタンを押して、自分のメールでEric Jonesからのemailを確認してその内のaweber.comリンクをクリックしてダウンロードページに移動して、必要なテンプレート（様式）をダウンロードしてパソコンに保存できます。ヤーデージブックを作る際、無料ダウンロードのGoogle Earthでグリーン、フェアウェイの順に各ホールの写真をコピー（スクリーンキャプチャー、SnippingToolなど）してパワーポイントもしくはワードの様式(テンプレート)に貼り付けていきます。Google Earthで距離も測れますので、テキストボックスにて必要な情報、戦略メモなどを追加します。Google Earthの画面でグリーンとフェアウェイの識別が難しい場合、スマートフォーン用の無料ゴルフアップ(ShotNaviXなど)の兼用をお勧めします。ヤーデージブックの両面印刷が可能ですが、プリンター詰まりが続く場合、片面印刷と各用紙対の貼り合わせもできます。
