  1. It all comes down to the shaft and what fits your swing cause everyone’s swing it’s different . Get fit for shaft rather than a new head .

  2. I’ve had 2 lessons and bought a hack motion. I’m hitting it 20 yards further. My old Mizuno GT180 has been adjusted but it hasn’t been replaced.

  3. I wonder if you would have made this video if you weren't sponsored by mizuno and were releasing review videos of all the new releases

  4. Great advice, Matt. I can only agree with you on getting the driver fitted. I bought a TSR3 driver with a HZRDUS Black 60g stiff shaft in September 2023 after just a few hits in a shop with a net and a launch monitor, but when I got it on the course, I found that I was struggling to keep my drives from going right. A couple of months ago, I paid for a fitting with a reputable fitter, and he recommended a new shaft (ACCRA Gen 2 Tour Z SIX 50g, regular). The shaft wasn't cheap, but it's made all the difference, and now I'm driving it at least as far, and almost always finding the fairway.

  5. FYI the Stx 230 is not in the current driver lineup for Mizuno, they stopped supporting them around October 2024, both for the St-Z & ST-x
The current models are ST-G and ST-max
Comparing these two drivers is only skipping out one year so understandable that they’d be very close.

  6. Good video Matt. I like to take my personal driver to the store, range and test them side by side. It saves me money if they don't make any difference.
Personally, this year I bought 2 Mizuno clubs for the first time in my life.
One the hybrid stmax 230 wich is sexy as hell and the 5 wood stg Titanium face both stiff shaft wich is a sniper rifle on steroids. Best club iv ever hit.
Mizuno is making really good clubs now.

  7. Mid to high handicap golfers buying the latest clubs on release is dumb. I’m still gaming Ping G410 driver and woods and i210 irons as I know I’m still not getting the most out of them and changing clubs isn’t the answer. Learning to get better strike, club head speed, launch etc is what I’ll be doing. Only when I’ve got this as it should be will I think of buying newer tech to possibly get a bit more distance etc. Seems to me that dumb is what the companies rely on.

  8. Whilst I agree with the point of this video, would you be saying the same thing if yiur sponsors had just released a new driver? 😮

  9. Still using my Sim2 Max and will continue to do so this year. Nothing I have tried is any better and I am the biggest variable in the whole equation.

  10. At one point I had a Tour AD DI and a 910 D3, TS3 and TSi3 head. They were all the same on the shaft. 910 D3 kept up with a TSI3. Sound and feel were different, but the performance was marginal. Drivers are such a scam.

  11. Year over year improvement with any club, driver, irons, etc, is pretty minimal and probably less for the average golfer than the elite golfers. So yes, buying a club that is 1-2 years old gives an upgrade at a fraction of the price. I have a Callaway Rogue driver. Bought it a year after its release and got it for almost half its original cost. And when I do upgrade this one it will probably be a driver that is again 1-2 years old. And lessons are always a better investment than equipment.

  12. Another great video Matt, I think the biggest con is the price! Good idea to buy a club which might be a year or two old, think I need to update as I have a driver that is over 10 years old, TaylorMade RX-9?

  13. I went from G425 to G430 max and Hazardous smoke shaft is slightly shorter than the Alta stock shaft in stiff is it any better slightly will I swap for the G440 er nope

  14. At long last, a youtuber giving the correct advice instead of promoting latest golf clubs. Can't beat a lesson or two from a PGA Pro teacher.

  15. I bought a Mizuno 220stx driver head on eBay for $75 and stuck it on my old driver shaft and it's the best driver I've had yet and I've tried almost all of the one year and older drivers out there.

  16. If I was Mizuno and I saw that thumbnail I'd be annoyed.
Also you can't hook one off the range and blame it on the driver, it was you. It reminds me of people crashing their cars after leaving a car meet and blaming cold tyres
Every time I've tried a Mizuno driver, it's been better than all the other drivers, so much so that I'm getting one to replace my Titleist.
