Did Ryan Day silence his critics after Ohio State’s National Championship win? | Joel Klatt Show

Has Ryan Day silenced his critics?
No he would have not made it without the expansion
🤓 Joel buckeye hater 🤓
Let's wait and see what happens with the Ohio State team NEXT season, when they'll be losing their starting QB, their top two running backs, their #1 receiver, many of their defensive starters, and probably they'll be losing their DC, Jim Knowles. Ohio State SHOULD have won the National Championship this season, because they had the BEST TALENT in the country, period, but they STILL lost to Michigan and they came VERY close to blowing a big lead last night!
I feel like a storyline is being buried here and with many other content creators…the fact that Ryan Day did not s/o or thank buckeye nation during the trophy presentation, his interview with SVP, or his post game presser. I think that should be alarming to buckeye fans, especially with what they put Day and his family through after the Michigan L.
Do u know something that no one talks about with this they only lost by 4 points all season lol like really not even a touchdown 4 points
Are you actually asking if a HC silenced his critics directly after winning a NC? Really?
I’m a Michigan fan. But Ryan is a wonderful coach. You will get the few that says he doesn’t play anyone. That’s BS. The only problem he has had in the past is letting the other team control the game. That’s what Michigan did to him this year. He has a great passing game but against Michigan he tried to run the ball which is hard to do. But since Michigan he’s been using his receivers that’s why he’s winning. I call bs that Michigan only beat the because of cheating.
The Ryan Day haters were mostly fans of other teams. This “fire Ryan Day” narrative was severely overblown mostly by people in the media
These lunatics that called for Ryan Day’s head were nothing more than arm chair quarterbacks and probably never coached or even played FB… The guy is 70-10 and now a National Championship coach. It was ridiculous to think he should be replaced, even with loses to the *Ann Arbor Astros.
Zero academics & unlimited budget for players & coaches means OSU should win ever single game they play. That is the expectation for a Football Factory, win-at-all-cost-school
Ok I agree with the very high standard. But-to all the haters …WHO exactly would you think you could EVER replace Ryan Day with ?
MUCK FICHIGAN
Sports fans are too emotional and lack logic. Too bad men/boys can't just see that it's a crazy game and basically impossible to win it all and just be logical? lolol Yeah right! Emotions rule lolol
All coaches have a Time !
Just beat Michigan
1-4. Lost 4 in a row. I appreciate the championship, truly, but I’d be ok if he resigned. I do not want another John Cooper era.
Has anyone seen Lou Holts n Paul Finebaum? Please tell them that tOSU won the CFP national championship with Coach Ryan Day!
He did. Proved he was the coach we thought he could be. I was one of the biggest critics if he lost to Tennessee.
Did he silence the critics??? It's OSU!!! With ALL that talent IT'S EXPECTED for them to compete for a chip. DAY has been at OSU since Urban Meyer. He's loss to MICH 4 straight years with more talented teams, hasn't won a conference chip, and losses in previous bowl games. So DAY is ALWAYS going to be a pressure cooker. To dismiss that the $20 million NIL/Collective is not a great help is disingenuous. Keeping it 100 under the 4-team playoff format OSU wouldn't have made the playoffs with 2 losses. .
you pay 20 million for a team in college you better win a national championship
Excellent analysis Joel good job.
No, Ryan Day DID NOT silence all of Buckeyes fans. He lacks the Killer's Instinct. He always plays scared and conservative in big games. His teams almost never play 4 good quarters, most often only two quarters then go into a coma and let opponents catch up. He almost always plays "not to lose," NOT to win and win big. Based on the high quality of teams he recruits and the resources available, by now he should have won at least 3 national Championships, not just 1. He underachieved, and so did Urban Meyer before him
Great season even with a natty is not complete without beating Michigan especially an 8-5 Michigan which is embarrassing.
I'm not a part of that Ryan Day nonsense but as a fan base we, like Alabama and Georgia demand championships. Nothing less. It's a great place to be able to be in. No apologies
A few very limited critics.
ESPN has made day sympathetic. I thought that was impossible.
Ryan Day still can’t beat Michigan
Ryan Day will always be known for losing 4 times to Michigan
Ryan Day will never beat Michigan. Ryan Day is scared of Michigan
Day has nightmares about Big Blue
Yes
They beat five top five teams Three in the playoffs.
as a buckeye fan at 8 yo and alumnus in 87. ohioans and the buckeyes always find a solution and its never easy. that is what makes the climb to to top of mountain tthe best. atd at the end of the day i wish no one any ill win, lose or draw.
Ryan Day has been paid more than $60 million dollars to learn how to be a head coach, and it finally paid off. If he was paid with your tax dollars, he would have been fired two years ago, but since the money comes from boosters and the athletic department, nobody cares.
That's our COACH..GOD BLESS HIM AND HIS FAMILY…GO BUCKEYES
Ryan Day has always been a good coach just because he lost to Michigan four years in a row. Does that mean he’s a bad coach everybody wanted his head because of losing to Michigan and now that they went to the national championship which was a Watered down 12 game playoff Which needs to be fixed now. Everybody says he’s the greatest coach ever. He’s always been a great coach so you Ohio fans who wanted his head just weeks ago a month ago now have changed your minds sorry hypocrites you should always stand behind your coach regardless but good luck this year 2025 because Michigan has an arsenal you won’t be able to contain and you’re losing quite a bit of people but it’s lucky that you paid $40,000 to get the roster you got you should take it to a national championship. You almost lost if Notre Dame would’ve had things together more they almost won
Klatt ..you can say what you want…but this is what makes it Ohio State that YOU MUST BEAT MICHIGAN. This is the differences between all other rivalries in college football ..it is what it is
Nah, he is still a wimp. He just lucked out with a 20 million dollar roster when they expanded the playoffs
You know this national championship game has a lot of similarities with the 1999 superbowl game OSU went in has heavy favorites just like the broncos did and hey congratulations you won but you were supposed to win.
2 W.R. OVER 1,000 YARDS … 2 R.B. WITH OVER 1,000 EACH VERY DAM STRONG!!
Would you consider doing a top 10 moments of 2024 ?
