Whether you are hitting an iron or a wood, the golf swing is exactly the same. But there are a few differences in how you “approach” hitting irons and woods.
In this video I discuss the difference between irons and woods.
About the Single Plane Golf Swing.
The Single Plane golf swing is not a quick fix golf technique. It is a system, beginning at address, that simplifies the most important moment of the golf swing – impact.
Starting at address on two planes where the arms hang straight down at address, the Conventional golf swing is complicated. Because the arms are hanging straight down, a conventional golfer must lift the body into impact creating stress on the back.
This upward movement to accommodate the two planes is unnecessary.
The Single Plane Golf swing simplifies the golf swing by eliminating the need for the upward movement by starting and impacting on the same plane.

Been waiting for some more great content!👍🏼🏌♂️
Thanks Todd! Excellent explanation and demo that make perfect sense.
Thanks for the info.
I think the explanation of AoA, the Swing Arc, and how wide, square, open, or closed your stance is relative to ball position is key.
Any chance Todd you can try and qualify for the US Senior Open at OTN in 2027?!
Start my first league play next week. I’m sure I’m gonna a get some funny looks until I pipe all my drives down the middle
Great videos Todd. I just finished one of your classes in Phoenix. Learned alot and it was a fantastic day. I do have one question for you. I have never had a long back swing. More like John Ramm. Is that a deal breaker for the one plane swing.
Thanks Stan
All your lessons are wonderful with essential information. Where were you fifty years ago, before I developed all the bad habits which are difficult to break? (Trying to change to the one plane swing, even with your detailed information is difficult for an 83 year old dude…but thanks a million).
I have always naturally been a single plane guy. Generally I hit woods, hybrids and irons up to 7 very well with a super high draw… but I cannot hit 6-4 with the same swing, I have to try and cut them… any advise on how to hit the longer irons?
