In this video Rick Shiels reviews the brand new Titleist GT drivers. Rick reviews the Titleist GT2 driver, Titleist GT3 driver and Titleist GT4 driver.
Titleist say ”with a powerful new engine inside there is something almost unbelievable about how Titleist GT drivers optimize the distance dynamics of every drive. Speed is gained but also controlled, meaning you get the best possible distance and outcome from every swing.’

I'm a bit perplexed. On one video you say the fitting was really good and that you enjoyed hitting the clubs, but on the fitting video that definitely didn't come across.
Was it the shot shape you were trying to achieve in the fitting?
How many yards do these foresight trackers add? Or are they just configured by default to replicate perfect high altitude conditions? Their yardage never reflects reality.
Too expensive to justify
With the limits put on drivers by the USGA, I feel as if they’ve reached the technological limit, especially when it comes to distance so what many companies are doing is working on forgiveness. Would you rather find 10-12 fairways a round while hitting it 274 yards or hit it 280 while hitting 6-7 fairways? I’d go with the first option all day long which is why I went with a GT2.
Release the original fitting.
Tried my buddies GT2 today hit it long and straight went into the pro shop and bought one
Vote Trump
It's definitely a nice line of drivers when it comes to look, feel, and sound. As you briefly mentioned where usually there can be a driver in a series where one of the drivers is less appealing look wise that's not the case with this GT line. The improved aerodynamics seem to be consistently leading to high clubhead speeds when compared to previous generations. For anyone that has been shown and held the crown piece they can tell you it's amazingly light, and surprisingly thin looking. Likewise anyone who has witnessed in person the drop test of the face material for something that isn't a titanium or steel material it sure sounds like it, and unless you're told about it beforehand you could easily believe it's one of those metals.
Will it perform better than another driver for a person? That depends what you compare it to, and if you were properly fit into that driver as well as this one. Well fit drivers are hard to beat if they bring you close to optimal for how you swing. They are definitely worth a try if you feel like your current driver is under performing and you're looking to bring confidence a fun back if you've lost those when it comes to hitting the driver.
Korda uses TaylorMade woods now. You’re showing an old add.
Sticking with my qi10. Hit this today, I was good, but for me the qi10 is great
Time to pounce on a TSR as their prices drop to nearly affordable…….
i dont know you deleted the video so i cant watch the fitting now
I started golfing September 2020 at the ripe age of 30. I'd bet my years salary on a match with Rick Shiels and win very comfortably. Rick is overrated and washed up. He is probably the worst golfer amongst YouTube golf reviewers.
Come on Rick, take the bait!
Can we address your attitude towards the fitters at titleist
$500 for new driver here in Canada we’re at $829
Got fitted for a GT2 previously using a Ping G425 and oh what a difference in performance! Spin numbers are way down and so much more carry distance
He’s reviewing the head covers of the driver? Really!
OK, to be honest when he started making comments about the head cover, I’d stopped watching the video
Went to Woburn, replaced my TSR1 with a GT2, added accuracy and about 15 yards carry, great club, great day, job done !
I'm tempted by Titleist. If I go for them I'll call at their fitting centre at Woburn for custom fit
So what do we know after this video.
Well, after 8:56, I think we can safely say that Rick is not a car guy. "Turbo injected", "it pops and it bounces". ??? ROFL
I think the problem is the driver is 649 US and it is no better than what you have already. Now I still dropped 649 already and it is coming in the mail, but still…😅
I will never buy another Titleist , I tried a demo GT2 from my golf club for about 5 rounds and it was amazing 20 to 30 mitres longer than my drive, I didn’t think I could go wrong so I bought one but now for more than 20 rounds I can’t get anywhere near to where the demo , I know I’m not the greatest player but I have been playing for 35 years at the same golf course and I know when I hit it well , not even once I have reached to were the demo reached try changing the settings but nothing works, I have the feeling it is a fake.
I was custom fitted recently. I hit a bunch of heads, the GT2 with extra stiff shaft was unreal. Ball speed was 160.5 and still had the forgiveness. It was surprisingly so much different from the other heads. Your stats are close to mine, I’m curious with a custom fitted shaft how’d you hit the GT2.
I was just fit for a GT3 after trying Callaway and Cobra. With the right shaft this thing just doesnt miss. Dropped 900 rpm spin wise from my current Ping gamer (that I was not fit for).
By the way any hcp can game the GT4, it is forgiving. Don’t listen to the marketing bullshit that it’s for better players.
i know its well past release date, but just got fitted for one and finished a round with it. by far the easiest and most satisfying club i’ve hit. sounds amazing, love the gloss black crown (personally), and the forgiveness to distance ratio is great. it’s not for everyone obviously but if you’re considering one go for it.
I’m a 3 handicap and my Achilles heel is high spin. I was averaging over 3,000 RPM with my current driver (Stealth) and I was still at 3,000 or higher with the GT2 & GT3. I was consistently at 2,200 RPM with the GT4 and averaged 20 yards further carry & still hit it very straight with my slight draw. I absolutely love it. If you’re a low handicapper that hits the middle of the face consistently, try out the GT4.. I think you’ll love it.
YOUR SWING HAS GOTTEN WAYYY BETTER!!!
turbo injected?
Bring back Rob Potter mid handicapper for a real review
