The incident occurred during the final round of The Sentry on Sunday January 5 where the two were paired together.Despite both players earning substantial payouts their mistake on the par-five 15th hole of the Plantation Course at Kapalua Hawaii cost them dearly. They accidentally struck each other’s golf balls on their third shots resulting in a two-stroke penalty.The PGA Tour issued a statement explaining the ruling: “Upon realizing their error on the green the players returned to the proper location to replay their third shots. However under the Rules of Golf these became their fifth shots instead.
