Arklow Golf Club was alive with good cheer and festive fun when Santa and the Arklow Music and Arts Young Performers dropped by for the club’s annual Christmas party.

A beloved annual event where Father Christmas meets club members’ children, this year’s festivities were once again graced by the talented AMA Young Performers, who serenaded the huge crowds in attendance with festive favourites like Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Feliz Navidad and Silent Night.

Declan Kenny of Arklow Links Catering kindly sponsored Santa’s visit and selection boxes for the children, while also providing food for the young singers at a post-performance party.

Arklow Golf Club president Mark Canavan and club captains Robbie Reddin and KathyAnne Ryder lavished praise on the young performers, which was echoed by AMA’s Yvonne Kenny, who commended the progress made by the talented group under musical director Bri Elle Finn.

“The young performers had a great time at the golf club, singing, playing the ukuleles and a little bit of percussion to a very appreciative audience,” she said.

“The group was only formed in September 2023, and this was their second year going up to the golf club at Christmas, and they all really enjoyed it.

“We are very proud of the development of The AMA young performers, a group we created because of a lack of a group to teach singing and music to the young children of Arklow and surrounding areas.

“Bri Elle Finn, their MD, is doing a great job helping to teach, encourage and inspire them. This little group and Bri Elle continue to make us very proud and we look forward to some exciting new projects ahead for them in 2025.”
