Golf icons Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka have been told to be green with envy over Rory McIlroy’s current form. Despite a close call at the US Open, McIlroy has racked up 21 top-10 finishes in the past decade without clinching another major since his 2014 PGA Championship victory.

Irish golfing great Padraig Harrington praised McIlroy’s season performance to the Irish Independent, saying: “Wouldn’t you love to be in his position?”

He added, “Who wouldn’t swap with him? Well, maybe Scottie [Scheffler] wouldn’t. Xander [Schauffele] looks like he’ll be a force going forward.

“But outside of that, you know, you might say Bryson [DeChambeau] or Brooks Koepka mightn’t swap with him, but they should!”

While DeChambeau and Koepka have secured majors more recently than McIlroy, Harrington insists that McIlroy is the one in prime form, even suggesting his putting is the best it’s been in years despite the major title eluding him.

At 53, he marveled at McIlroy’s prowess, saying: “[McIlroy is] unbelievable. He’s driving it great. He seems very comfortable with that. He chips it unbelievable. His putting is the best it’s been.

Despite McIlroy’s announcement in September about decreasing his play schedule starting in 2025, expectations remain high for him to clinch another major win.
