  1. To me, the ball picker upper ability of the df3 sells it for me. The ozi can scoop the ball but that’s not nearly as satisfying

  2. I’m surprised no one pronounces the Oz.1 putter as “Ozzie” as that is definitely what they are going for having it been designed with Adam Scott

  3. The average golfer will find just as much success with any other properly fit putter. The only real innovation LAB offers is video fitting. There’s a reason the best putters on tour don’t use LAB.

  4. For me it’s the df3 because of using broomstick. The more mass makes anything off center still roll perfectly and you feel like it strikes the ball great.

  5. My concern on the face insert is how “hot” the face is. Just my opinion….a longer put should require a longer stroke for consistency. Looks like you have a short backswing, Gabe that works awesome for you! I can get a little “stabby” and that causes me to judge speed poorly.

  6. Oh boy. Upgraded shaft so it doesn’t flex. Really? A 20’ soft 6” swing needs an upgraded $100 shaft. A $599 putter plus a upgrade shaft? Don’t get me wrong I like it but it is more than a driver and even new drivers are stupid high. As a golfer we are so gullible thinking we can buy strokes off our score. I’ve never improved with new clubs but I have with better technique.

  7. Really glad I finally got my DF3 set up just the way I wanted right in time for them to release the Oz1. If I could change one thing about the DF3 it’d be a firmer feel like steel faced. Not dropping another 700+ again though.

  8. The Accra shaft is 140g. The older Odyssey Stroke Lab shaft was 70g and it won multiple majors and many tournaments. This suggests the Accra should be good for a dozen majors. Good enough for everyone on the planet except maybe Tiger, haha. DF3 appears to be easier to align but I can see how it's a bit slower. I highly recommend the heavy head and the back alignment marker. I do love the OZ in red with the triple racing strips option. It was inspired by a supercar, hah.

  9. They should have stuck with the old design. It set them apart from anything else on the market regardless of looks. Now they look like everyone else and kills the uniqueness.

  10. Need a review of the white putter shaft. Does it affect the visual at all?? No videos exist comparing the black shaft vs white shaft.

  11. I have not used the new one, but the DF3 is pretty awesome. I think it’s going to boil down to feel of the face.

  12. I hope they make a oz1 broomstick option. I’ve used the 2.1 and it’s a great club. L.A.B Tech is the real deal. 🎉

  13. I play a DF3 but just ordered an OZ.1i. I love my DF3 but tend to struggle pace-wise with it so I'm interested to see if the OZ can give me better distance control.

  14. Nice review, so why do you think you have to hits your putts harder with the DF3 , so is it because it doesn't have an insert or is it just the shape and size of the head?

  15. How the hell do you do 3 puts for each at each distance and all that a comparison…. WTF is that sample size?

  16. I was testing lab putters at PGA super store here on the east coast of FL and one of the store associates told a guy testing a lab don’t buy it here, they want to custom fit you. I was there to ensure which putter I wanted. No Oz.1 then but went with a DF3. Can’t wait to get it 🏌🏻‍♂️

  17. I have a MEZZ 1 and since the face doesn't rotate I feel like you have to swing a little harder due to there not being a hit with toe closure..

  18. Hey the Bryan bros mentioned in one of their videos that the head weight seems way different even though they were the same “swing weight” between the oz and the df3. Did you experience anything like this?

  19. Unless you are 100% happy with your putting stance/stroke/at address then send the video into LAB. If not…then go get fit. I did both and I ended up going with the fitting numbers at the PGA Tour Superstore. No way I could send a video of myself using a 43.5" putter with a 79.5* lie angle. If I were to go off what I had at my house I would've been at 36" and 71*. This is an investment…spend the $40 and get fit.

  20. Nice. I'm the definition of a mediocre putter. In fact I'm the Salieri of putters (gotta throw an Amadeus ref in there) and this probably would have some interest in a putter like this. I'm not a terrible putter, just normal and I think this would quickly drop a couple of strokes off my game. I really like the milled insert idea in the OZ-1. It probably would be an easier transition.

However, I'm just not sure dropping what would probably be 800 plus dollars for a custom putter configured for me would be worth the cash. i"m not criticizing the putter. It looks and performs fantastically. But this is a serious putter for serious golfers. It certainly is out of the price range for most once a week golfers like myself. Once I retire and have more time to devote to playing the game I might take the plunge on something like this but right now I don't think I would get the benefit from this kind of club. Now if I won one, well….

The nice thing is that what is new technology now will become normal technology in 3-4 years so this kind of putter will probably be around for significantly less in the future.

  21. The steel insert may make the face mill stay as new. I would definitely like the feel of a steel mill rather than aluminum mill face.
