Axis 1 has just released the Rose 2.0 zero torque putter. I put it to the test.

  1. All putter companies are jumping on the Lab Golf bandwagon now. More options, good for the game of golf I think. 🤔

  2. I spent about an hour with a couple lab putters and a couple odyssey square to square putters over the weekend. I was impressed with all of them. I preferred the feel of the odyssey putters, especially on longer putts. But the df3 was fantastic inside of 5 feet. I’d be happy to use any of them. ⛳️

  3. Good review but with the Ai-ONE Square 2 Square Jailbird Putter as good and priced at $299 I don't think Axis 1 is going to sell many.

  4. I’m all about the tech and the proven results with zero torque putters. What is a huge turn off is the price tags. $400-$600+ for a putter is insane to me. It would be nice to have an option that is less refined aesthetically in the 250-300 range.

  5. These types of putters look very interesting, but I'll wait and see how it goes. Its clear that the putters don't twist while swinging freely, but I'm not sure if that makes a real difference since my hands don't swivel freely like that while I'm putting. If they do provide a measurable advantage I imagine they will stick around. I suspect though, that these may be great for some, and meh for others, like most things.

  6. Had a putter fitting today and besides the horrendous look this axis putter couldn't stay stable. It literally moved all over in the backswing.

  7. With so many of that style putter in the market place and more coming I’m sure, would be nice to see you pick your top 3 and then say if you would put one in your bag or not 👍👍

  8. This putter makes the DF2.1 look like a prom queen. Woof probably the ugliest putter I ever seen I wouldn’t be able to game something this hideous

  9. This is a decent price compared to the LAB. I wonder how good it would be with a reverse taper grip. I am hooked on that.

Personally, as far as speed control, any putter can be good or bad depending on how you play. Any putter needs practice to control as far as distance goes. I played yesterday after not playing for two weeks and the front nine was horrible as far as speed control went (three three putts) but better on the back (15 putts overall).

  10. Gabe… any idea if that grip is part of the zero torque configuration, wait, angle, shape or otherwise so that it would negate the zero torqueness?

  11. I changed the grip after 1 round to a Flat Cat svelte grip mounted with the flat side facing me. It worked great today. I am very happy with it now

  12. I like my DF3. If I had to do it all over again, I would’ve got a custom one, but the stock one works good. My stock one has a forward press grip which I really like. The DF3 is hard to beat.
