Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel! This YouTube channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!

I specialise in golf equipment reviews, golf instruction & I play against some of the best golfers in the world!

I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.

I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!

  1. Hey Rick. Great advice. Could you also explain when the hills are sloping towards the direction you are hitting, both ascending and descending? Thanks.

  2. Lol. Hole 7 at my golf course almost guarantees every second shot (long par 5 with a pond) will be from a sloping lie.

That day had been hitting them brews harder than the golf balls. Tee shot settled on a double slope, downhill with left slope. Played it ass backwards and just at contact, realized I screwed up. It was too late. Hit a slice stinger about 8' off the ground and carried 210 yards.

  3. It happens every time but when I adjust my aim the majority of the time it does the opposite. But I'm not very good. I just figure it's like water when you know it's there tend to overcompensate.

  4. So how about a quick rhyme or saying to remember this? If you’re right handed it would be “up and inside and down and away” to steal baseball vernacular. Anyone know something like this so I can remember?

  5. I feel like over time playing I've subconsciously started making adjustments on side slopes to get a straight flight, mine no longer draw or fade off slopes.

  6. I find Rick giving lessons funny because of how barn door average he is at golf for a man who plays so much

  7. You've played for 25 years and still shoot in the 80s and still thin your chips. I'll look elsewhere for golf tips thanks😅

  8. yes, but this is assuming that shots are executed just right. If you fat the shot, it is almost guarantee the opposite.

  9. I always think of it as the ball will want to go downhill. If it's above my feet, then it'll go downhill. If it's below my feet it'll go downhill. That's probably the easiest way to tell.

  10. Lol unfortunately anytime I follow those rules the damn ball goes straight or the opposite direction you described…….GOLF. What a strange game.
