If you're supposed to be enforcing the rules or laws, then you shouldn't be above them. Whether you're a referee, police officer, judge or whatever, if you have a controversial opinion, you keep it to yourself until you're retired. Then you can do podcasts, write a memoir, whatever you like. Drink isn't an excuse, the circumstances don't matter to me personally, I think he's lost his integrity and can't feasibly referee professionally again.
If I was xenophobic at work or made xenophobic comments on camera I'd be sacked, so would most people

The Premier League showcases talent in coaches, staff, and players from all over the world. Why should it be refereed only by English referees? The Premier League should be going after the best referees from around the globe to try and bring standards up.

Howard Webb got a lot of answer for as the PGMOL apprently were aware of this video soon after it was recorded and decided to limit his game for liverpoool over the years.
His position as a pl ref is now completely untenable. No one should be surprised by anything he said and can even understand it, but to say it on video is just stupid. He must have been completely out of it and it didnβt look like he was drunk.

Coote's comments are seriously worrying, most especially for Liverpool FC, for in his anti-Liverpool tirade he says " . . .WE all hate Scousers . . ." who is the "WE" he's referring to, the rest of his buddies, ergo the rest of the Prem officials? That needs to be ascertained by putting him under some serious pressure, for who else could he be referring to? Also if he said that about say any ethnic group, Starmer would have him behind bars right now, but because it's Scousers he gets a walk-over, the whole system stinks from top to bottom. We shouldn't allow this to be glossed over, or brushed under any carpet.
