An easy way to stabilize your putting grip, without using a large grip that can take away feel for distance, is to rotate your lead hand counter-clockwise to a soft end range before gripping the club.

There should be no strain felt in the hand or wrist after rotating the club. The video shows how to safely rotate the hand and wrist to a stable position.
The lead thumb will not be straight down the top of the grip, it will be pointed across the grip.

While this lead hand grip will feel different than the grip you are accustomed to, it should become familiar in a short time. You should quickly see a benefit to the consistency and stability of your stroke.
