Lydia Ko is one of the best female golfers to have ever played the game and recently won a gold medal at the Olympics.

In this video, I break down her golf swing and talk about the different elements that make her great. We cover creating width, loading in the backswing, how to shallow in transition and extension through impact.

Lydia Ko has one of the most consistent golf swings on the LPGA Tour; there is a lot you can learn and copy from this video!

  1. You commented on the ‘underhand release’; she appears to keep her trail shoulder lower and it stays behind her spine after contact until arms are at last parallel. In some pro swings it appears the trail shoulder comes forward earlier after contact. Which should we imitate?

  2. Great video, thank you. Really wanted to see her most recent swing. And you can add that on top of the Olympic gold medal she just won the women’s Open at St. Andrew’s !! Not just an ideal swing for women, its also an ideal swing for men and I hope to learn from it. Am 83, have played for over 62 years. By the way, you commented that her driver was a bit far out at address. But if you look at it, her hands are actually well below her chin, even inside it. She is not reaching.

  3. Thank you from Texas for posting this informative video. I don't recall anyone else analyzing Mrs. Ko's 2024 swing. Mrs. Inbee Park isn't playing much on the LPGA Tour anymore. However, I would appreciate it if you would analyze her most recent swing. It looks a little funny, but it works extremely well under tremendous pressure. I wonder why that is? Her husband is her coach. Pro Tip: Mrs. Park says she has competed professionally all over the world while only using three identical drivers throughout her long career! She had just started using the 3rd one when she was inducted into the Hall of Fame. Mrs. Park has been sponsored by Srixon/Cleveland golf her entire professional career. 🐃🐃🐃
